What is the likely scenario when the stress tests for all the Irish Banks are known? I am sure we all know that BoI, AIB are well bust, and looking for another bail out.  So too is the EBS, looking for a bail out, a buyer or both. While the PTSB have avoided taking a bailout thus far, all change now apparently and if what we read is true they have huge problems. Even a bailout maynot save this bank. Question 1 where to put your money and dont say BetfairLaugh and question 2 where is it all going to end..........

Irish 2 year bonds have gone over 10%,The markets are saying default imminent,There should not be one more cent put into these banks by the Irish Government,But the Irish Government is a bird with two right wings,so they will lie down to our German,French, and British masters and make sure it is the Irish taxpayer will pay not these huge European institutions!

We Irish do the blame game very well......Where is this money the banks borrowed to sell on.........our hero worshipped developers are having a right laugh..........2 brothers down the road from me owe banks a combined €1 billion and couldn't give a toss........they paid their labourers 3 times the average industrial wage.......the developer simon kelly doing the media circut in for €2 billion and saying it's not his fault, the list goes on......€80 billion owed to the banks by 50 individuals.........but sure let's blame someone else.

Ulster Bank is the answer to your question.
Report JayTrumpOldTomDubbl March 27, 2011 1:04 PM BST
Time4change...how safe is Ulster Bank ? and would it be safer to open an account with this bank north of the border...because before this state does a Sovereign default it just might make one last attempt to stave off default and grab the Irish citizens savings to bail out the banks...this has been done in other countries esp. in South America and history has one nasty habit i.e REPITITION

Rabo are the place to go for deposits. Good rates and are actually safe.
Report Timeforchange March 27, 2011 9:32 PM BST
Jay, UB are guaranteed under the Irish deposit scheme for 100,000 for sole a/c's and 200k for joint a/c's. The thing is they are owned by RBS who are in a good position and are paying back their debt to the English government quicker than expected.

RABO Laugh.
Report squigs March 28, 2011 12:27 AM BST
Rabo have an AAA credit rating from Moody's and Standard and Poor and are one of the 4 safest banks in the world to hold money with.

Ulster bank are A2 and also hold a lower BFSR rating and RBS the parent are Aa3.

So in saying Rabo are the safest option I am spot on.

Gaddafi's guns did enough harm to the banks and those who worked in them for the cause. Bet he would not be happy now the majority of these men of the cause peddle in narcotics. freedom fighters/criminals.

Listening to Vincent O Brien and it's very hard to understand what really is going on. I bet this is not the end of it. How come its taken about five attempts to get us where we are. Its madness. How such small banks in the scheme of things could cause such damage is shocking.
