I was at Naas last wednesday and i observed the unfortunate Ruby Walsh and he didnt look fit never mind race fit.I watched him walk into the racecourse he had a slight limp and was grimacing as he walked.Jockeys are the bravest of men none more so than Ruby and with Cheltenham round the corner its understandable than he would do anything in his power to ride there.
It is probably distasteful to try to make betting capital out of someones misfortune but there is no sentiment in betting.I think you have to lay all Ruby Walshs mounts at Cheltenham as i dont think he will be able to ride the horses out in the finish,he will also be ring rusty. If you want further evidence just look at the ride he gave Rattan yesterday in the third at Navan,he was a well backer favourite and i felt he wasnt able to ride him with his usual elan.
I also feel Willie Mullins treated him very badly at Naas last sunday,he had three runners Cottrelsbooley odds on in a novice hurdle,Lambro odds on in a maiden hurdle, and Quadrillon in a three mile handicap chase, what were his riding arrangements Townend on the hurdlers Ruby on the chaser and a dodgy one at that....ludicrous in my opinion.
One final tip for Ruby be wary of the Tony Martin horses its your falls from these beasts thats causing you the injuries.

wildman, no one else is getting broken up off Tony Martin's horses.

I wouldn't worry too much about his fitness. He looked as good as ever on that winner he had on Saturday. At Navan yesterday he was equally stylish on Rattan but ran into a good'un.

Willie will supply him with plenty of mounts after Cheltenham. He was just gradually easing him in after four months out of the saddle. He also said he won't starve young Townend of mounts as he would like to see him crowned Champion come the end of the season.

Soapp....I really enjoy your race reports and respect your opinions but i cannot agree with you on the ride he gave Rattan,he appeared unable to ride it out...most unruby like to me.

Wildman..i think ur just looking 4a bigger price on Ruby to be top jockLaugh...ruby has said somewhere that he has no hope of being champion jockey in IRLAND and willie will be giving PT evry chance to be Irish Champion Jockey maybe thats why Ruby was on the least fancied runners and was not in any way treated badly...Wildman take the 6/4 with pp's and you will draw[;)]

This is for Mincer/Robos benefit. This is probably the worst advice ever given here, wrong on every front but thats racing. All long term racing men get used to being wrong and sometimes you get it spectacularly so,in this case Ruby rode the first winner at Cheltenham was top jockey and Quevega also won.I don`t have a credit card so i didn`t max it out but i did the equivalent in cash and was skint for a bit.
Now Mincer is that wrong enough for you, although i think you will have a little chuckle anyway.

Laugh, that's the way it goes wildman, not as bad as this one from the golf forum, before McIlroy routed the field in the US open:
