Anyone know why the Irish handicapper so kindly decided to drop its official rating 3lbs prior to todays run?  You couldn't make it up

94 was his BHA mark.
Different hcap system.
Don't think 3lbs would have made much difference anyway.

The ever-present "they" appear to have "got it ready" in advance
of taking the twine today...

GANT007.....Apologies....asked a question of you on another thread,no need to answer.
Part of a trainers job is to win handicaps and Gordon Elliott is proving good at that,he is also improving horses he gets from other stables another sign of a good trainer. The reference to Tony Martin was the weight of money for the horse, its a long time since i saw so much cash for a horse, there was one young lad going down the lines trying to get thousands on with varying degrees of success again nothing to do with Gordon Elliott.I have the utmost respect for Gordon Elliott,he is second only to Willie Mullins in the current rank of trainers.

Wildman   -  how much can one get on at the Irish races?

I would not be the best judge of that but i have noticed that Ladbrooks are taking decent bets in the Irish ring at the moment. The main reason seems to be Darragh Fitzpatrick,he of the irritating laugh, who will take five figure bets, with the exception of David Power all the others seem skint.

He is running today with a 4 pound penalty, same distance same ground no stopping him.

Unlucky Wildman. No doubt now Minor Power didnt try an inch at Tramore or in any of his races prior to that. Pity the winner had two stone in hand. Still Minor Power touched almost Evens in Play unfortunately I didnt green out for a profit.

Bad few days for Carbery now.

Cool Quest was pretty bad but that tops it.

Absolutely no excuse for that ride. I didnt back the horse today but had a fair few quid on Cool Quest last week. To have that much horse under you and then loose like that takes some doing. I know some people will come on here and make excuses for him but its happening too often. That was nothing short of a disgrace!

Anybody who backed that for a win would have been spitting feathers when he took that pull imo.
