Just heard there is an 8am inspection

It doesn't surprise me. Just looking at rainfall radar on the Met eireann website. There is a lot of real heavy rain among it at the moment down south which is heading Punchestown way.
Fingers crossed. The turtle island's revel in the ground. As of course most of the french bred's. Be wary of the Presenting's which prefer better ground than most. |

The inspection is precautionary....Looks a cert to go ahead.

Seen some tissue prices of 20/1 about Lord Nellerie and Evanna McCutcheon - with 8 runners and 3 places that's a huge price about a horse who's finished in the top three in each of his last four visits to the Punchestown XC course and with a jockey who knows him well. I know it's dangerous to take tissue prices at face value but 20/1 is massive.

Thanks guys - he always does around here to be fair and Evanna gets on well with him. Hoped for 3 places but with only two it was a reduced stakes job and possibly a touch lucky that One Cool Cookie departed early on.
Was looking forward to seeing Profit Margin step up in trip to 3m as he won a P2P at Templemore which has a ridiculously steep finish and to me he looks like he'll appreciate the 3m under rules but he's been pulled out. |

So Young was very impressive there COM showed a nice turn of foot after the last - wouldn't fancy taking either of them on tbh.

Winning trainer Willie Mullins was absent but owner Luke McMahon stated “Willie was in favour of coming here instead of taking on his Zaidpour in the Deloitte Novice Hurdle on Hennessy Day as he says it better to win two races than one!”
He added “he showed today that he isn’t slow but we’ll more than likely go for the 2m5f Neptune Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham. He is very exciting and Paul (Townend) was impressed.” “He was well bought by Harrold Kirk from France and once the deal was done, his French trainer (A. Couetil) wanted to run him once more – he said he would cancel the deal if he ran badly and wouldn’t change the price if he won!” Which he did! |

Thanks Das - I think he was bought from the same source as Sweet My Lord (hopefully goes on Saturday in the Totesport Trophy).
