I thought it was tough today, thought Northern Alliance ran a blinder in the MCR and must have a big chance but i don't like backing Mr. A J Martin's horses

Megans Star jumped well making all when winning easily at Thurles .. Loves soft ground should take all the beating in the Mares Novice hurdle ... She is short enough at evens , might be worth doubling her with a horse in the last race at Meydan at 6.45 Here to Win 2/1 .... Mike de **** trained got a very tender ride on her Dubai debut a couple of weeks ago when second ....

Think that Island Peak is a cracking ew bet in the Hunter Chase - travelled well to 2 out last time behind Whyso Mayo at Thurles before fading into fourth, drop back half a mile in trip will suit and the favourite looks opposable judged on his only previous track Hunter Chase start.
7/1 ew with Boyles will do for me.

1) HRI said they are cutting back on prize money by having 6 races cards. I see the trainers are telling them to divide a race and halve the prize money. Everyone happy! These maiden hurdles are basicaly schooling races imo with most horses just out to get a handicap mark.
2) Mullins is a class above the rest at the moment. Meade is having his usual doldrum period bar the odd exception with very few runners post xmas.
3)The nanny goat divs for a place are a joke and the quicker they go back to where they were before Stanley Wolfe came over to ruin the turnover by changing the method and take out the better. Place turnover used to be the equivalent of win turnover. Now it it is lucky to be 50% at best.
