From a distance, it looks like Sligo are the only danger to Shams. Is this the case? Hardly insider knowledge but my mate who is a Bohs fan is certain they can't win. Do Pats or Fingal have a chance? It would seem that Shams are financially secure and so no chance of them going belly up mid-season.

If it is a 2 horse race, then a return of 37% is available (was 42% last week until Billies took down prices) for anyone with cash under the matress. Any views?

shamrock rovers to defend the title would be a very confident choice, hope im right[;)],question lads was thinking of doing a double in powers wasnt sure will they take it,rovers to win the league 1/1,and twigg 3/1 top goal scorer will they allow the bet?

Sligo Rovers a massive lay for me at the odds.  Derry City will even finish above them

if sligo gel quickly , we will give shams a real good run - derry dundalk pats and fingal to complete the top 6. Opening 2 games for sligo are away to derry and home to shams.

Not going over old war wounds but the premier division will be a poorer place without a competitive bohs team.

Are you nuts kriskin? Derry over Sligo!!!
It amazes me that Derry have still only 2 LOI Premier division titles, given the amount of times they challenged for it.
No chance.

The ew value could be Dundalk at 12s in spoils. They won 4-1 at Solitude last night and could be dark horses.
I know some of the departures like Guy (Pats) and Chambers (Rovers),but not all of the signings.
Maybe fans of their respective clubs , can detail the incoming and outgoings they know of?
I`ll start it off.
Bohs. Heary,O`Connor and Cronin. There not our departures, that`s our squad and Cronins injured. LaughLaughLaugh

Ins;Jason Mc****ss (Bohs)Alan Kirby (Fingal)Rafael Cretaro (Bohs)

Outs;Mauro Almeida (Released)Gary McCabe (Shams)Richard Brush (Released)Conor O'Grady (Harps)Jim Lauchlin (Ayr) John Gibson (released)

Rumoured to be trying to resign boco (greedy man)and also a lad from salthill, daryl horgan.

Also supposed to be in talks with aaron greene & killian brennan.A goalie is a serious requirement as despite his heroics in last years final, he is not thought of as a league challenging goalie.

We also have 7 useless korean under 19 internationals on trial but i dont think any of them will ever play a competitive match - i thinks its a work experience sort of thing

Its a long time since we were this organised 1 month before the season starts so expectations are high.

Excellent info lads. Be interesting to hear from any fans of other clubs?

I see PP have trimmed both Shams Evns > 10/11 and Sligo 3s > 11/4. Dundalk seem to be the EW mover of late (best price 10s) Hopefully a few more bookies will price this up soon.

Fingal face financial crisis
Thu, Feb 03 2011
Sporting Fingal have this afternoon released a worrying statement saying that the club are currently not in a position to pay their wage bill.

They had been backed heavily by Gerry Gannon, but problems have materialised in recent months and despite attempts to restructure, Fingal have admitted they’re in some financial difficulty.

Despite confirming a move to Dalymount Park for 2011, Fingal had lost a string of players in the close-season, while failing to replace them.

Rumours had been around for sometime of a struggle at the club after Gannon withdrew his backing, but their fears seem to have surfaced today by confirmation of their difficulties.

A press release from the club stated that they “had developed what it believed to be a viable business plan on a reduced and prudent scale having secured new investors and some sponsors. A number of commitments which would be crucial to its viability have, in very recent days, not materialised.

“The club has regretfully, for the first time since its inception in 2007, not been in a position to pay players’ wages at this point and are urgently attempting to resolve the issue.”

According to the club, they have notified the FAI and PFAI and hope the situation will be sorted soon.

Fingal are due to play Lisburn Distillery on Monday week in the Setanta Cup, though no comment has been made yet, while Bohemians also recently announced they might struggle to field a team for the cross-border competition.

Both Rovers and Sligo look too short to me, i'd rather take a chance on either Dundalk @ 10s or Pats @ 11s.

I do have an interest huddys and that is how people find LOI soccer interesting,it's not really a sport I suppose, the standard is so low one could hardly call it football.Just because it's Irish doesn't mean we have to be enthusiastic about it,the players are trash, scumbag supporters, and almost exclusively confined to the pale, that's 3 major frailties
