I see that The Star has launched a poker supplement today and they have picked out 5 Irish players that are making their mark.

I have heard of Andy Black and John O'Shea, but I am not familiar with the others. Jude Ainsworth seems to be making serious money. How good are these guys?

I wrote that particular piece you refer to (under a pen name). I could have picked a dozen lads to feature, Seamus Cahil, Dave Callaghan, Rory Rees Brennan, Nick Heather, Andrew Grimasson and more besides.

Tom currently doing well in EPT Deauville as is Rory Rees Brennan. Both in the money and lying 4th and 10th overnight with 90 players left.

The RP have a poker supplement out today also. They had a few out during the year. John O'Shea's diary is a good read and they have an interview with that Blaine guy today.

Any idiot could play that game, pros my hole.Every second yank thinks he's a pro,the reason it's so popular is because any fool can play it.U can pox a tournament and suddenly you are a pro,and let me tell you that the only way anybody can win a tournament is if they are haunted with luck and not being more skilful than anybody else

That's not a problem newmanix,I must go and get my hoody and my dark glasses and i'l be ready.I can already juggle chips between my fingers and stare at something or somebody for 5 mins in an attempt to make myself look astute, and then throw in my cards. That's about it really, there's nothing more to it I don't think.By the way I'm a cash game player myself ,them tournaments are really only for the people who are too nervous to play for cash

Them bracelets they have in America are not for their wrists, they are for their pants to be stuck to their ankles with to stop the shiit running down their legs. Was watching one night I see some smug Swede winning a million dollars on Ladbrokes million, the next thing I hear he's doing 8 million playing cash and on line lately,so here you have a mug winning the tournament as usual.Looking at another American supposed to be famous ,Doyle Brunson. He's about 120 for gods sake, please don't tell me he could be any good at anything .Another yank I think it's lederer his name was,he was playing at a table one night and next thing I hear his sister is at the table.Come on now gents, this in the tournament format is no better than glorified bingo

I'm not fishing at all dec dec,in fact if I'm not mistaken the last tournament in Ireland should have been won by a hood from Limerick, that was a great advertisement for the game .Showed exactly what I am saying that ANYBODY can play it and the winner is always extremely LUCKY

a poor fishing attempt imo. anybody who insists they know so much whilst proving they know fck all is obviously a 3rd rate fisherman.

That's always the retort from people that don't like what someone is saying but cannot disagree,"a poor fishing attempt".It's not fishing, everything I say is indisputable .A hood should have won the Irish Open,Brunson should be in an old peoples home, these are facts

robo...there is a small element of truth to what your saying...ie if you play a 100 seater tourny you must be (good player) 1/66 not to win. so yeah you do need a massive chunk of luck.

any sign of the RP running another tourney for its irish readers? last one was good enough, with good prizes
