If this one is worthy of a Grade 1 hurdle entry he ought to make mincemeat of the opposition in the bumper at Naas tomorrow.

Looks the race of the day. Whatever wins this will surely be all the rage for Cheltenham. Oscars Well looks the value call at the prices. Didn't think he'd be 10's.

Looking at what he's going to be up against, he couldn't really have been any shorter, could he? At least there won't be any hiding place on Sunday and we'll finally get to find out what race Zaidpour will be running in at Cheltenham. If he wins in a canter, its the Supreme. If he comes with a wet sail or indeed struggles, then it will surely be the Neptune.

I've posted it all season mate on the thread i made on Cheltenham forum, i was told where he would start and what races he would go for all the way to the festival and it's been right. I know most where obvious but i was even told when he would start off. I'm not telling anyone to go have their nuts on him for the race but i was told he was being aimed at the Neptune so i took all the big prices earlier in the season so if it's wrong im well out of pocket as i ain't bothered greening up or backing him for the Supreme.
I was told by a relation who knows a good friend of Mullins. I have no reason to doubt what i was told but then again i can't 100% back it up as it's coming from another party and not myself.
I will probably get slated now if he goes for the Supreme but there ye go Plain
By:

When: 01 Feb 11 15:35
Ok, well I've been thinking the same since he won at Punchestown and think it's a no-brainer that the Neptune is the race for him. The Supreme is probably the toughest race for novices at the festival. I hope we're right so [;wink;)

Not surprised - It's a red-hot novice hurdle. Probably tougher than we're going to see at Cheltenham next month!

Zaidpour will have to be ridden closer to the pace this time.
By:

Why do you say that soapp?
Was he not just below par last time?
By:
Dan Chipowski
When: 01 Feb 11 18:49
9/4 seems generous and i've had a small investment. Shaping up to be a cracking race with some very nice prospects.
By:

Maybe he was a bit below par GS. But he made up a lot of ground at the death.

Satellite - Willie does not know himself what race Zaidpour goes for, nor do owners. You are usually genuine in your posts but the aboveis nonsense.
By:
Giant Strides
When: 01 Feb 11 23:06
Watched that again soapp. Defo let the front 2 get first run. The bigger field and longer trip will surely help. Possibly even more meritorious he got so close if he wasn`t at his best.

Please explain how it is nonsense, i said it was what i was told, i also said i have no reason to doubt the person who told me and i also said i can't 100% back it up as it's coming from another party other than myself.

It may be worng but it's what i've been told and thats all i posted

SF,

I suspect that he is not stating that you are telling lies and from your posts on here, there would never be any reason to suggest that you are telling untruths,.

He is pointing out that your source, who told you that he was going for the Neptune and that this was the plan from the start of the season is talking somewhat through his a*se, even if he may have been right about races such as the Royal Bond.

He could well end up in the Neptune, although I would strongly suspect that he will run in the festival opener.

Despite what others have said about him on this forum and the Cheltenham forum, I think he is absolutely dependent on soft ground and running at the festival on anything other than soft ground is likely to have a detrimental impact on his future career.

Interested in Shot From The Hip for this myself, much improved and for me has a good chance in a decent race.
By:
ChildOfMine2
When: 02 Feb 11 11:58
With regard to Zaidpour being dependent on soft ground, we dont know that yet. Mikael D'Haguenet was being campaigned on soft/heavy ground before he won the Neptune two years ago. So Zaidpour too could be just as effective on better ground.
And if he does need soft ground, then surely the Neptune would be his optimum race given the liklihood that he'll be taken off his feet in the Supreme.
By:
Temlett
When: 02 Feb 11 13:21
It is not whether he is effective on soft ground, it is the effect that running on a firmer surface has on him.
By:
ChildOfMine2
When: 02 Feb 11 16:33
Well it didn't do Mikael any harm as he followed up to win at Punchestown six weeks later Happy

Racing on firmer ground didn't do him any harm in his run after Cheltenham.
By:
Temlett
When: 02 Feb 11 23:13
That has nothing to do with Zaidpour although I know that they were debating whether to run Mikael on good ground.
Zaidpour has obviously had a history of problems.
Anyway the Supreme is 6 weeks away and Sunday deserves tpo be chatted about based on its merit rather than as a trial for something else. Although now that I have said that, I have no real idea what will win on Sunday.
By:

ground will be at least soft in leopards on sunday...good chance it will be heavy
By:
SatelliteFlight
When: 03 Feb 11 10:52
I wouldn't be so sure about that, the rain will have to come and come in it's bucket loads for it to be heavy surely? Wasn't the ground description yielding to soft on Tuesday. Since then we have had very little rain, nothing worth talking about and yesterday was a mild windy day which surely would of dried the track out quite a bit.
The forecast for the next few days is for rain and plenty of it but so far it's another beautiful day.

When: 03 Feb 11 11:20
agree fully sat... no rain for last coupe of days ....it rained overnight on tues ....its blowing a gale here atm ..unless we get a massive amount of rain in the net 2 days it'll be at worst soft on the day... but who can tell with irish weather .....

Let's hope these English runners get over for Sunday's meeting. The Irish Sea is very choppy at the moment and Irish Ferries have the Jonathon Swift suspended at the moment.
The horses might be sea sick by the time they get to the Leop if they go by boat!
