After suggestions that RTE turns a blind eye to drug abuse, the broadcaster released a statement today saying that staff with knowledge of criminal activity must report it.

Eamon's been very public about his use of cannabis and cocaine.

Will he have to identify his suppliers?

He should also tell the guards that he tipped Wayne Rooney to be the star player at the World Cup.

That was criminal too.

He wants Rooney's children, thinks he's as good as Ronaldo, Messi, Xavi, Iniesta et al when he ain't in their stratosphere. When do we ever see him beat a man by dribbling, all he ever does is cut in shoot/ cut in play it backwards or sideways. He should just be played up top where he can get his tap ins off the wing play, His cntribution to general play is vastly overrated, and Dunphy is supposed to hate hype, I think he is among the most overhyped players of all time.

Having raised the subject directly with RTE, it seems I owe Eamon Dunphy an apology.

Contrary to what was widely reported in the press, RTE tells me that the 'policy' that requires staff to share all knowledge of criminal activity with the guards was never really a policy at all, just a press release wriiten up to deflect criticism away from the state broadcaster in the wake of Gerry Ryan's coke-fuelled death.

Furthermore, as Eamon has been appointed Betfair's ambassador to Dublin, RTE are satisfied that this confers upon him full diplomatic immunity.

So party on, dude. You're in the clear.
