Contrary to what was widely reported in the press, RTE tells me that the 'policy' that requires staff to share all knowledge of criminal activity with the guards was never really a policy at all, just a press release wriiten up to deflect criticism away from the state broadcaster in the wake of Gerry Ryan's coke-fuelled death.
Furthermore, as Eamon has been appointed Betfair's ambassador to Dublin, RTE are satisfied that this confers upon him full diplomatic immunity.
