Mossey Joe was as impressive as I've ever seen today, if he stays right he will be some horse.

You could have just responded to my post on the Cork thread!
He would want to get a move on to win a GC.
He`s 8 in 3 weeks. Times not on his side.
Report The Gotchee December 12, 2010 9:12 PM GMT
If he is good enough to even contest a GC he is still very young. It is not the age it is the milage on the clock, He was obviously given plenty of time to grow into his  frame. Irish Grand National appears to be his target.

Report slickster December 12, 2010 10:37 PM GMT
an average horse. where oh where do these mugs come from?
Report downallstar December 12, 2010 10:48 PM GMT
Good lad slick
Won a very decent G3 on the bridle, pulled like a fker for half the race, a horse who has now won 2 points, a hunters chase and a 3 mile nov hurlde by a combined 50L having never been of the bridle. Laugh

Not saying he's gonna win a Gold Cup, but damn he'sone of the most exciting horses i've ever seen.
Report downallstar December 12, 2010 10:50 PM GMT
he's some*

For what winsam?
Report Mordin. December 12, 2010 11:50 PM GMT
Backed Mossy pre-race at 41/1 but he wouldnt shorten in-play as he pulled. Got back out at 32/1 should have been at an awful lot shorter price.
Report silvergreaser December 13, 2010 12:01 AM GMT
Future Gold Cup winner is not allowed run anymore than 3 times a year in case the precious thing without balls becomes stressed.

What a joke the national hunt game has become.....
Report irish_guy_13 December 13, 2010 12:02 AM GMT
is it related to danoli?
Report winsamsoon December 13, 2010 12:03 AM GMT
To win a Gold Cup. What will he go in at Cheltenham? If his aim is the Irish National, it could be the 4mile novice chase.
Report slickster December 13, 2010 12:23 AM GMT
why are you all getting excited? unreal. wins a mickey mouse 3m hurdle race at cork ffs and all of a sudden he wins the next gold cup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mordin,

If he should have been a shorter price in running why did you get out?
Report Mordin. December 13, 2010 11:24 PM GMT
Hi Tolmi, had a bet in to lay him at 12/1 just wouldnt shorten for ages. Im a low risk trader just over protective of my stake I suppose. Another race horse would have shortened more readily finished up £134 but could very easily have been £500 win win.
Report Tolmi December 14, 2010 7:49 PM GMT
While I was watching the race I said to myself early on that there was no way he could last home having pulled like he did.I would imagine there were plenty willing to lay him in running because of him not settling.

Must have a serious engine to do what he did.

Willie Austin's Mossey Joe (Andrew Lynch up) is a fascinating contender for the Grade 2 woodiesdiy.com Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown tomorrow.

Unbeaten in two point-to-points, a hunter chase and a graded hurdle at Cork, Mossey Joe enters the big-time here with Willie Mullins' Mourad (Paul Townend will ride) a strong contender.

Oscar Dan Dan (Davy Russell), Shinrock Paddy (Alain Cawley), Powerstation (Barry Geraghty), Rigour Back Bob (Andrew McNamara), Rick (Paddy Flood), Summit Meeting, Alpine Glade (Barry Cash), Garrai Ard (Tommy Treacy) and Moskova (Paul Carberry) are the other runners.

If this thing settles early then I`ll gladly pay to find out how good he is.

Well done naysayers.
I got out in running because of the way he traveled into the straight. Went odds on. Found nil. Sad

BTW. If you the thread by Decky I readily admitted I don`t back winners. I didn`t claim I made a truckload on the race and I credited the people who doubted his form.
And I never said I backed him in the first place!!!

This lad is  a lovely horse in the making. Needs to learn to drop the bit.

Happy Christmas, be champions.
