FAIRYHOUSE'S all-star card on Saturday has been called off for the third time and will now take placenext Wednesday, weather permitting.
Course manager Peter Roe was pessimistic on Wednesday about the track thawing out in time for racing and a decision was made to postpone on Thursday morning, as the track remained covered in snow.
The fixture, featuring the Bar One Racing Hatton's Grace Hurdle and two other Grade 1s, has already been rescheduled three times already due to the freezing conditions.
"People will wonder why we keep driving onwith the fixture, but such has been the support of our leading trainers, I am happy to persevere," said Roe.
"Paul Nolan, Charles Byrnes, Willie Mullins, Noel Meade and Billy Harney have all said that they want to race at Fairyhouse, even if we have to go to next week.
"If the forecast is right, we should just about be good to go. The snow is behind us now but it is important to say that frost covers would not have saved the meeting.
"I am more optimistic about racing going ahead than I was at any other stage during the last two weeks," he added.

No word of rescheduling. This Fairyhouse card next Wednesday is only 11 days out from Leopardstown/Limerick. Surely will dilute the big races at all 3 meets.

I agree with the last poster,it's not as if there isn't similar races for these horses at Christmas,we could have a situation where races will become non events now
