When they started shouting "orange sc*m" at the Gardai alot of people were fairly cheesed off.
The Gardai are down 17% in their take home.
Report Rocketfingers November 28, 2010 4:27 PM GMT
Nah it was peaceful protest a few gardai made some threatening stares but some of the higher ranking Garda pulled them to one side and had a serious word as there was a lot of the world press there and the Garda Commisioner did not want them painted as a bunch of brain dead knuckle dragging baton wheeling buffs again. There was a few words back and forth from the anti govt side (the people) and the Pro Govt Gardas but everything went peacefully i even seen some Gardas clap the protesters away, maybe some have a conscious after all?
Report GANT007 November 28, 2010 4:38 PM GMT
I know it was peaceful but you always get a certain element...the patriots draped in the tricolour with their faces covered...

Pro Government Gardai.......that's your best yet.
I'd say they were clapping their off duty work mates who were on the march.

Do you not have to work to be working-class?Mischief

Rocketfingers comments about the Gardai leave a lot be desired.......reminds of a group who don't recognise the Gardai..............lets hope him and his crew did not take children along with them.

Threatening stares.......maybe they had the new zealand v wales match on a big screen and he got confused by the haka.

Gant i recognise the Gardai alright hard not to recognise a bunch of apes in a blue uniform shuffling about our country with no talent other than they played for their village a few times. The ordinary  working class people/LOI fans spoke yesterday down with the Government. A Dundalk FC fan led the march as well, great stuff.
Report downallstar November 28, 2010 6:41 PM GMT
Was the Dundalk Fc supporter Josef from Louth?
Report Rocketfingers November 28, 2010 6:45 PM GMT
No close it was Jim from Louth
Report GANT007 November 28, 2010 7:08 PM GMT
Sure Dermot Ahern is Mr. Dundalk FC...............Shocking how the loi was paying wages of 2500/3000 a week and now jumping on the back of the working class........Galway Utd going down the tubes...fair staff bill there compared to the club GAA teams surviving on the club lotto and the odd race night.........Sligo rovers only paying 40 weeks of the year....who pays these lads shortfall............but sure thats grand your CEO who inherited the job announced he and his cronies will take a paycut of 5%....he gets 435k.

Rocketfingers and us lads from the villages get the so called city slicker gardai...but at the end of the day they are providing for their families.

Get over the hard done by and everyone is against us your league is urban based and parts of Ireland never heard of it.

I have no doubt you recognised many loi people at the protest........I'd say most supporters are on first name terms given the crowd numbers.
Report workrider November 28, 2010 7:36 PM GMT
Laugh i like it .
Report GANT007 November 28, 2010 7:41 PM GMT
Nipping down to the village pub (we only have one) for a few scoops....it will be full of GAA/FF people and guarded by pro government forces.
Report Rocketfingers November 28, 2010 8:15 PM GMT
Any club/company only pay a person for the length their contract is valid, this is the kind of Ireland we need to leave behind your FF mates want to be paid 52 weeks of the year even though they may have a contract for 40? :D
Report Rocketfingers November 28, 2010 11:48 PM GMT
Still Gant won't answer the question put forward to in this and other threads !
Report SatelliteFlight November 29, 2010 10:56 AM GMT
Gant is right about O Donoghue - 435,000 a year and he's so worried about the rest of us he's decided he will take a 5% cut Plain how the hell is he paid so much Shocked
Report steeringjobnap November 29, 2010 11:43 AM GMT
I take it 'tis Delaney you mean on the 435k.

it helps your argument if you get the chap's name right, chuckles...
Report SatelliteFlight November 29, 2010 11:48 AM GMT
Laugh sorry don't know why i had that other name in me head
Report Rocketfingers November 29, 2010 2:20 PM GMT
Well of course he is right about Delaney half of that is far too much for Delaney. But the other stuff was mental stuff, his party has wrecked the country, Gaelic football will probably get worse (Hard to believe) and so will hurling because of all the young people leaving the country, he then turns around and slates soccer clubs for offering employment? Another indication that this fat (probably) public worker wants to look after number 1, And all he can do is back the govt forces of the Gardai and suggesting they should have used heavy handed tactics against the people. I can just imagine driving around in the squad car this morning looking to harass the innocent people (non FF) of this country.

I just want to say i have no problem with Gant i like him.

Complete waste of time - some of the guys who organised that charade I wouldnt cross the street for them. Futile exercise.
Report Rocketfingers November 29, 2010 3:37 PM GMT
Not all these things must start somewhere, it may be a little late the govt busy bodies will say this gains nothing wrong it's a starting point, the working class has said "your time is up".
