don't follow the news so have no real idea whats going in relation to budget proposals etc..but somebody told me online betting tax is possibly to be introduced.Any truth in this and if so how would they actually implement such a policy?

Firms would pick up the damage so punters not affected, probably means online operators would relocate to tax free locations

Betting almost impossible to tax on-line these days as it's so easy to bet offshore.

Powers 500 hundred jobs is a gun to head, new betting tax then no jobs.

The supposed story in Bookmaking circles is that the Rev Coms are saying that their take is down by 40% and any increase would reduce take further as Layers will just not declare all bets and money goes offshore and revenue falls.

All in the timing lads, all in the timing of the announcement...

The PMU deal was inked yonks ago - these are the same jobs that were hawked then.

It's a classic Michael O'Leary "I told you so" pr spin.....do the jobs exist...give me terminal 5 or else.
