The smallest and inconsequential of betting businesses dismissing the biggest operator. Sure what would you expect from a business that is poorly run, lacks initiative and innovation and has an immoral take out. Maybe poohna can throw some light on this development

I can understand HRI not wanting to pay a percentage of turnover to betfair for business going through the betfair website that would probably otherwise have gone through the tote's own website.
However, if the tote's own website was half as fast or as user-friendly as the betfair version, then it would not have lost so much turnover to the betfair website.
Is there any chance that the betfair software interface might now be handed over for use on the tote website?

As regards the Hennessy promotion, what happens if the Hennessy meeting falls victim to the weather?! No Plan B in the small print.

Looks like the Tote have thrown their toys out of the pram. Todays RP enlightens us to the reason for the divorce from BF. Tote can no longer associate with BF because BF failed to reach an agreement on contributions to Irish racing. How come it took them so long to make this earth shattering move. From memory BF's contribution issue was more or less clarified early 2010 or late 2009. Clearly decisions are difficult to make and the word tardy comes to mind for their policy execution. What negative impact will this decision have on the Tote's turnover. Wonder if any HRI executives have purchased shares in BF. Guess I shouldnt even go there.

Interesting to see that the tote dividends for Naas today are appearing on At The Races before they appear on the tote's own website - there is absolutely no excuse for creating the possible suspicion that bets are still being added to the pools after the off, which is the only possible excuse for not publishing dividends as soon as the judge has declared the result.
Perhaps this is just an over-reaction to the past problems correcting the website when the tote anticipated the judge's decision, got it wrong, and had no way of amending the published result and dividends.
