Apart from his round last Sunday ( a 64) he has played very poorly for over a year . Lucky to get a pick in front of Casey .
Hopefully he rediscovers his game , but doing so in the wet ( and windy on Sunday ) not the best guess . And there has been a lot of guesswork in Padraigs game lately .

should never have been picked ahead of either Paul Casey or Justin Rose, has played like a clown all year until that 64 last week, oh and the 10 eagles he got in practice according to Monty yeah right

i agree that pod was lucky to get a wildcard, casey did deserver it in fairness.
however harrington & donald are only on the 3rd hole and the americans started birdie/birdie in what are terrible conditions. i think it's too early to be saying he is playing awful, hit a poor tee shot on the first but more then half the players missed that fairway and still had a good chance of par and had birdie putts on the next two holes.
if they lose this match 5&4 and he hits it all over the place then you can say he is playing badly, not after completing 2 holes.

great to see POD winning again. Wasnt the strongest of fields but a win is a win. Some clowns on here and particularly on the golf forum seem to take satisfaction from his troubles over the past year. as somebody said above, class is permanent.

Away in Donegal last weekend , so missed this tournament . Still a win is a win , no matter where .
Padraig has played well before in Asia , maybe the heat suits him . Should help his world ranking too .
