Irish NH horses to watch

Has a lot to do to repair its reputation.

DD and Brendan O'Ruairc were on the Irish Angle today on ATR.
BOR was down in Willie's recently and saw many of the horses on the gallops. He didn't mention this one nor did Ruby who was also looking ahead to the new NH season.

Hurricane Fly will dominate the 2m hurdle scene as long as he avoids injury. He's the best we've seen since Istabraq. Think Willie's mare which won at the Punchestown Festival, Tarla, could be one to follow as well!

Someone said on chelt forum that tarla has been injured since punchestown. Willie has some team this year.

He's a bit weak in the senior chase division. Maybe Kempes will improve into a top class 3 miler

They gave Quevega, J Y'Vole and Arvika Legionaire (excuse the spelling)good mentions as regards Willie's.
Also mentioned he has a lot of novice chasers to go to war with this yr.

Fionneagas could be as good as anything Willie has in the novice chase division.

like that Mullins chaser Apt Approach, think he may be better than he's shown, travels v nicely in his races, thinking long term he might be one for the Grand Annual

Also think Zaarito could be better back at 2 miles ridden handily on genuinely good ground, think thgey've tried everything else but there's a good horse in there. Thinking long term if all went well I'd like to see him in the Game Spirit at Newbury in the new year, might throw up good ground and he'd get lots of weight. The only problem would be the fences.

Think it's very strange that De Bromhead is starting off SE at 2m7f on his first start this season. He done nothing wrong over 2m last season and the 2m chase division doesn't look particularly strong. Big hike up in trip from 2m to 2m7f on seasonal debut

They want to go the Gold Cup route COM, was the plan going back to his hurdling days.

I think he is 100% right. Looks like he is crying out for the step up in trip to me

We if they're going that route, better to test the distance now.

If he gets it he will be something else, dropped out over 3 miles he could be lethal but it is a big if, the horse seems to have such a high cruising speed.

He'll probably get away with it on Thursday considering the lack of opposition thats going to turn up against him. We might not get to see until the King George whether he gets three miles or not!
