Traditionally one of the most important racing festivals of the year and very little mention of it on here. Is it just seen as a string of industry meetings these days? Shocked to see it kick off with a three mile maiden hurdle yesterday.

Well Pat Healy said it had to be all NH yesterday as it was in opposition to the Curragh. Most NH cards start off with a maiden hurdle. Keep the 2 mile MH's till Listowel has the spotlight to itself.

Maybe so,but the jockey is supposed to make some effort.

3.55 Dundrum Dancer

At 12s in a place and 10s gen is too big imo(was 16s earlier for the early birds)

Was very keen on this lto when she ran in a competitive race at the Curragh when going off a well supported 11/2 shot but she lost all chance at the start with a very slow start but still looked like she was going to get into contention at one stage(traded 3.2 i/r b4 fading out after using too much energy to get in the firing line) - has been dropped 1lb for that run

So she is better judged on the run b4 where she was a staying on 3rd at Galway when makin up a lot of ground from the back over 7f - has run well over 6 at Cork when 4th behind Iron Major (off 72)so trip is fine

Value at a double figured price imvho

Like Hallies Comet in the race b4 too at 8s and an e/w double the pair

Only bets so far there

The negatives for Dundrum are a tendency to start slowly which if repeated will leave a lot to do on a turning track & a question of handling the ground. The trip should be perfect falling between 6 & 7f.

Ponmeoath with a small saver on Dancing Tornado my only bet today

Been given a real chance by the handicapper imo - twice winner of the race off 127 and 135

Was 6th last year off 145 - gets in here off a mark of 136 which is very fair imo

Though he ran an excellent prep race for this over hurdles at Galway lto after 6 months off the track when finishing 4th to Gudnis Gracious me travelling into the race very well but didnt have the pace to go with the leaders over a trip much too short but it was a very encouraging run

Ground should be fine too, i am on at 12s AP (as per other thread) but think the current 9s is stil fair e/w value

I hate anyone who uses the phrase "imo" the whole time, I also hate the use of the phrase "woop woop".

I admit that this is completely irrational but for some reason my intincts tell me that these are a clear indicatior of a knob.

And i agree punchy, one i am really looking forward to throughout this season (as on Chelt forum)

Thought he did it well enough on his first hurdle start against some horses that have shown a decent level of form in maiden hurdles in Riverstown and Far Away so Close

I was down for the last 4 days. Way more enjoyable than Galway, better racing and great results. Half the price too.
27000 on Wednesday and 27100 on Friday for Ladies Day.

Hats off to Pat Healy and the boys. Roll on 2011.

Horse Racing Ireland today confirmed an investigation is underway into the non-payment of winning bets by one on-course bookmaker at Listowel’s meeting last Saturday and a review of procedures may also take place.

On-course bookmaker Ger ‘Dixie’ Dalton, who didn’t price-up the final race having reportedly run out of money, left unpaid and disgruntled punters to form a lengthy queue outside the HRI Levy Office (responsible for such matters).
