Her win in the Matron Stakes gives Aidan a full house of Ireland's 12 Group one races.  Well done Aidan.

Lillie is very much underrated in my view.  Injured after a long tough 2 year seaon.  Came back for a hard win in Cornation Stks and another comeback for this.  Tough girl!

If he was that good he wouldnt have ran her at Newmarket or he would have got her to run to form at Newmarket.

from the AOB love-in going on in here, doesnt look like I'm the peter pepper on here. We all know AOB is very good, has had his share of flops this year though.

This was never meant to be total praise for AOB, I just thought it was worth noting that the milestone has been reached (although has taken some time).

Lillie herself is worth the praise but some people have missed that.  I for one can't see why Coolmore insist on sending over many 2 years old to the Breeders Cup when it has finished many of them.  Lillie was almost finished by it but she dealt with it.

Anyone who thinks Ballydoyle are struggling should look at Godolphin, what would they give for Matron and Champion stakes winners?

I wasn't too happy when LL went by Spacious last sat but he has done well with LL. Prob patience is one thing o brien has in abundance.

Interesting piece written by Simon Rowlands about the sectional timing of the Champion. Cape Blanco actually going 2.6 sec faster to halfway than 2009 race and obviously came home slower. I don't think there was any fluke about his win. but the form might be weak . Rip is not trustworthy and is a messer, while Twice over is an ordinary Gr 1 horse.

Interesting article on O'Briens achievement on sportsnewsireland.com.
Make the point that Lillie may have been ideally suited to the race compared to the stables previous runners who were all better fillies over further. Great going by AOB to get the full house either way.

O' Brien lacks credibility when he talks about his charges post race. Last saturday he decribed Rip Van Winkle as miler who stays 1 mile 4 furlongs and Cape Blanco as a 1 mile 2 furlong horse who stays 1 mile and 4 furlongs on "guts". Who is he trying to fool? He is a muppet.

That 1M4F was a mistake for 1M2F - he had said it about two sentences before and then said 1M4F by mistake.

IMO Rip is best at a mile and Blanco 1M2F, and those trips shouldnt change, but hey ho life goes on.

The BEST trainer we ever had on the flat and that includes MVOB imo.

RVW and Cape Blanco are both 1m 4f horses. You should review their races. Last saturday Cape Blanco wasn't stopping and RVW, as he did at York was finishing best of all. I saw it with my own eyes. Great trainer that he is, he doesn't have to try and deceive us week after week.

A better trainer than MVOB? Is that some sort of sick joke?

Vincent was disqualified from training which imo was a stain. It was given for a reason.

APOB hasn't been tainted with this.

MVOB built an empire, APOB inherited it. That disqualification was dodgy. Furthermore APOB could have been disqualified on a few occasions this year, for the running and riding of some of his horses, in particular during the early part of the season.Mischief Added to that we all know who runs the Turf Club today so we know that is never going to happen.

I hate backing his horses and rarely do so as they are rarely value(except 2nd strings at times but thats drying up too), they can't improve/disimprove by large amounts and his pre/post race interviews would mix you up more than teach you anything, not that I would 'listen' too much anyway.

For example Zoffany. I honestly don't know whether this horse is a superstar or overrated.

His last piece of form is quite muddling. The way the race was run should have disadvantaged a horse that had been winning over 7f and staying on strongly to win over 6f in his first two starts. He quickened up the best and looked very good in the last furlong.

But wait the tactics employed by the Coolmore '4' that day looked to be give their own horse plenty of cover while Hannon's and Bolgers who both pulled hard, had no cover and all Zoffany did was pick up 2 horses that had done their race in the first half of the race.
