Fella told me this week that Coolmore had bought Canford before the race so I guess it was win win for them. In running I thought Rip could nt lose and I wonder if there is much more to come. I say no

RVW is NOT that good. Unlikley to win another G1.

Traded at 1.12. You can check this out by 'search horse' on the timeform section here. Lists in-running high and lows for all horses, compares the Industry SP to the Betfair SP ect.

the gotchee  how can you say  r v w is no good when you take into account its great run in the eclipse to finish a good 2nd to s.t.s. and its sussex stakes win over paco boy . your talking rubbish.

will he go for another qe 11

Agree with Santa, Only horse to ever give STS a race and His Sussex win last year against Ghaanati and Paco was a top notch performance, If and it is a bit of an if there is as much improvement to come as o'Brien lets on than he has every chance of winning another group 1. I'd be inclined to believe that there is alot more to come as they want a win at the breeders cup with him and the way he performed there last year would have told them that they have to take it softly softly with him till the autumn this year. On his Eclipse form with STS last year I'm certain he's a better horse than Paco and It wouldn't surprise me if he managed a win over CC or Goldikova before the end of the season

RVW has only past the post first 3 times in 11 starts! That`s not great by any standards. All things being equal, I wouldn`t be rushing to back him against either of that pair.
Report neill d August 2, 2010 6:37 PM BST
I get what your saying GS but I'd hope that would be factored into the price, I actually believe them when they say they've never had a clear run with him and that maybe the best is still to come. They could have retired him last year after two Gr1 wins and a valiant second to perhaps the best horse that has ever been, I know the Eclipse was over 1m2f and not a mile but I don't believe either CC or Goldikova would have been able to do what Rip did on that day, I swear for about nearly a furlong I thought he was going top win. I think if he reproduces that kind of performance ( and I think that is what they are waiting for as he is a fragile **** and hard to get right) he will beat any horse in training today from 1m to 1m2
Report Giant Strides August 2, 2010 6:44 PM BST
He`s never bleedin`right! I`m long gone past listening to the Ballydoyle spin machine. Avoid that pair and he can win something. Personally think his best chance would be at York where he can bowl along in front and possibly draw the sting out of Harbinger.
Report neill d August 2, 2010 6:58 PM BST
Ya I'd hope he takes that one up aswell

santa concerto, I never said RVW was no good.  I am trying to point out that he is a good racehorse not a great racehorse. He won a 4 runner G1 and beat Paco Boy in receipt of 8 pounds weight for age. He was beaten out of sight by  Sea the Stars, Goldikova and  Zenyatta, three genuine world class performers.Although he has won a couple of handy G1 races he is probably a G2 performer at best. He is not likely to win another G1 and he certainly wont be winning at the Breeders Cup.
Report santa concerto August 4, 2010 6:23 PM BST
certainly capable of winning another group 1 on the eclipse form and sussex stakes that is solid group 1 form. if as o brien said   theres more to come even after todays run talking about the suussex stakes this time then theres  every chance he can win a group 1 again.
Report soapp August 4, 2010 6:47 PM BST
Queen Elizabeth route lokks the obvious way to go. Goldikova in the Jacques Le Marois is best swerved.
Report Giant Strides August 7, 2010 11:34 AM BST
Looks like RVW`s win chance has come. Harbinger injured.

Some marvellous tipping here lads. Santa Concerto and Neil D, your judgement was spot on.

The Gotchee got it a little wrong.

Maybe it wasn't a top class Group 1. But you can only beat what's put in front of you.

There was no spin from Aidan today. He admitted he takes time to find his stride.

He said QE 2 next up as F & G goes to Leop.
