Hurling and I played for Leinster development panels through school. Any sport where an Irishman is given a weapon is a dangerous sport.

Ask Keith Wood.

Does it matter?

Rugby as you know is for those who never made the grade at skilful games because of clumsiness and lack of coordination. In short most of those paricipating have a surfEit of brute force and ignorance. Hurling is the most skilful of games played by those who have little interest in the commercial aspect of sport yet produce great skill and finnesse on a regular basis. Frankly most hurlers put most professional sportsmen to SHAME.

More skill in Rugby then in Gaelic Football. Hurling is a different matter I agree though.

Historically, when rugby was an amateur game, plenty of rugby players would have played cricket during the summer months. A far more skillful and cultured game than hurling.
