Cheers for that. Only one enclosure mentioned on the website I think but will revisit. I could've missed the cheaper enclosure but would I want to be there having laid out for air fare, hotel etc.?

Definitely no mention of a cheaper enclosure on the website.

Last year there was no reserved enclosure. I reckon de bookie boy is wide of the mark.
Cash on the day. Ignore those loudspeakers. There will be plenty of touts but whether you get them under cost price is another matter. There is one other source. The fruit sellers ussually get a few spares from the rich and famous when these people are buying their racecards and turforms off them. You might just get lucky there. What you should do is hang around the entrance where the freebys go in. Spares often materalise there esp after a race or two. There is 8 races on the card so don't be in any mad rush to get in. The derby is the 7th race as TV coverage is guaranteed after the 3 o clock world cup match. Good luck and hope you pick up a free be. |

Cheers. A freebie would be nice but I'd settle for a cheapie!

Thanks for posting Sinndar. I couldn't see any reference to what we would call a "Silver ring" over here. That does make more sense now. So the plan is, go in the 20 euro, back the 1st winner and transfer to the Reserved. Simple.

Its 40 euros for Tatts
Seems a bargain Last time i went it was 50 euros ![]() |

DEBOOKIEBOY.
That bet is off. I can't be right all the time!! |
|

There is no silver ring in the Curragh, the RESERVED enclosure is €40,and the betting ring area which is the same as tatts in U.K. is €20.

Steinbeck, I wouldn't classify it as the same as Tatts on Sunday. You won't get near the parade ring on Sunday. At least in Tatts you get to the parade ring. The silver ring would be closer to the mark imo on Sunday!! |

Shirley the thursday of Galway is the biggest race day of the summer. At least 3 days of galway are now bigger than Derby day.
