Simply because of the The World Cup, greatest show on earth boys and the greatest event known to man, sit back and enjoy for the next month and stop hating the people's game.

Football is a common language now no matter where you go people can speak about football and that why we are number 1 and will always be.

Nice compliment for the GAA lads if the only thing you can try to compare it unfavourably to is the world cup which is as you rightly call it the greatest show on earth. For a country of 4 million people to produce TWO games that as you say can rival that is remarkable. Thanks rocketfingers makes me proud to be Irish.

daradasi, i can imagine you slamming your fists on the table and shouting about foreign games Laugh

Actually next year there will be a game that will take place that in Ireland and if you add all the TV audiences for every all Ireland final and multiply it, it will still be way off what will watch this match. Now how is that for comparing daradasi my old boy? Laugh

Enjoy the people's game Love

Rocketfingers, love the soccer and up to recently played GAA and Rugby. I like the gaa alright but not even I would sit down and watch the first game of the greatest show on earth, something waited for by hundreds of millions for 4 years with the only thing on my mind is whether it can compare to the GAA. You and wr have some high regard for the GAA.

Off now to watch the second match of what you consider the only thing to rival the GAA.

Yes it's great to see the GAA compared with the World Cup. I think Croke Park will be delighted to have a national game compared to a worldwide game,it is a great compliment to the GAA.Plain

daradasi ,been a true wordsmith i thought you would     have understood the meaning of the word afterthought . idea occurring later , in the case of the gaa much later , i think my man you've missed the point completley . fingerocket is simply saying the gaa  is an afterthought to millions of people and is unknown to billions Laugh

Creating multiple accounts and pretending to be another voice is a new low. Workrider, the quality and formatting of Rocketfingers posts are slipping.

You are genuinely insane talking to yourself.

"....under pressure at work !"

...notice the space between the end of the sentence and the exclamation/question mark as the case may be. Workrider's posts also have this feature and very few people do it. It's a dead giveaway. Epic fail. GSM. GN+GL
