Main bet for me today - Rapid Artist, very impressed with his victory at Cork on the heavy ground back in April and can forgive him his run in the Punchestown Championship Hunters Chase later that month when he was regularly hassled by loose horses before losing 6 or 7 places jumping left handed on the fence before they turn for home (weakened quickly after). Outlaw Pete was back in second in the Cork race and has won since whilst I expect the unbeaten King Rocco to prove the biggest danger for the Jimmy Mangan yard.
Askanna should take the Mares Maiden Hurdle whilst there's an interesting runner in that race which has been discussed in depth on here previously (though I figured today is not the day).
2.25 Listowel nb - Like Theglenbeighdancer e/w in de 1st on its first run for a new trainer after 6 months off
Has 2 good placed efforts to his name- was second at Limerick last summer on soft ground at a massive price, travelled very well that day over 2m and just didnt pick up on de ground and finish second
Nto was 3rd over 2m4f here at Listowel wen sent to the front b4 3 out and was run out of it to finish 3rd on good ground
Lost his way on his last 3 runs but hopefully he wil refind his old form with a new trainer and should have solid e/w claims at 9/1 imo
2.55 Nap Leblon if repeating the form of her last run finishes on her own here wen finishin a close 2nd to the highly touted Tarla in a G3 hurdle - even the form of her 3rd to Carlito Brigante and Alaivan would see her successful

2.25 Napa Starr. This horse is a major lay for me today as there is no way i can see this horse seeing out the 2 mile trip.
4.05 Campbonnais I think this horse is still extremely well handicapped and i think his win the last day was made look alot harder than it actually was.He was only beaten 9L by Peddlers Cross in his P2P days and now that he has got his fast conditions he could be capable of running up a sequence of wins.

We will see Bio.If you look at his breeding. His sire was a 7F horse and the dams sire was a 7F horse. He has only won at a mile, but has been placed twice at 1M 1F.To me you definitely need a horse that has won or been placed at 1m 2F to see out a 2M trip over hurdles and nothing in his pedigree suggests to me that he will see out the 2 miles.

very fair point on the breeding, but the going is good, the track is flat and he won with alot in hand the last day. The opposition doesnt frighten me either.

Jeez Davy Russell had some bad falls over the last month. I thought he was thinking about it but then I was at Tipperary on Thursday and I was down at the last where he literally threw Stormforce over the fence after kicking him in the belly outside the wings (This horse fell at Kilbeggan with him with the race won)so bottle is no issue with him, if anything over brave. Just plain bad luck. He has had 8 bad falls in a fortnight that I can recall. Hope he is back for Galway

But every cloud has a silver lining. And it's nice to see lesser lights now picking up rides with the top two jockeys out Ruby and Davy.
