Good work BJG.
I couldn`t back anything with Adam Kirby up to win a classic. Terrible jockey.
I think Fencing Master could reverse form from Newmarket, with Stenbeck being the fly in the ointment.

Racecaller's Trends
The Tattersalls Gold Cup takes place on the undercard of the Curragh’s 1000 Guineas day on Sunday 23rd May. It’s a group 1 race run over 1M 2½F and has been won by some top class horses in the past decade, including Montjeu, Fantastic Light and Hurricane Run. It’s disappointing to see that only 7 horses have been entered at the 5-day stage this year.

Below we take a look at the trends for the past 10 years:

Age

Win Place Runners
4yo 8 7 40
5yo 2 4 18
6yo o 1 4

8 of 10 winners were aged 4yo, though they have represented approximately 65.4% of the total runners.
The two 5yo winners were the only two winner trained in Great Britain.

Gender
The nine mares to run in this race have finished 818228623 (1-2-9)

Recent/Past Form
10 of 10 winners won over 1M 2F+
10 of 10 winners had won a group 1 or 2
7 of 10 winners had won a group 1 (all 3 exceptions had been placed in a group 1)
10 of 10 winners had run no more than twice that season
6 of 10 winners had won at the Curragh (2 exceptions were having first course start & other two had finished in the first 3 in a group 1 here)
10 of 10 winners were officially rated 110 or higher

Other Races
Previous season's Irish Derby winner (Fame And Glory): 1112 (3-1-4)
Prix Ganay winner (Cutlass Bay): 2221 (1-3-4)
Prev season's Derrinstown Stud winner (Fame And Glory): 21 (1-1-2)
Previous season's Prix Greffulhe winner (Cutlass Bay): 1 (1-0-1)
Mooresbridge Stakes winner (Fame And Glory): 5613 (1-0-4)
5 of 10 winners ran in the previous season's Irish Derby, finishing 16112 (one other finished 7th in the Irish Oaks)
4 of 10 winners ran in the previous season’s Arc, finishing 1001
3 of 10 winners ran in the previous season's French Derby, finishing 152
2 of 10 winners ran in the Irish Champion Stakes, finishing 24
2 of 10 winners ran in the Judmonte International Stakes, finishing 14
2 of 10 winners ran in the Prix Ganay, finishing 91
2 of 10 winners ran in the Newmarket Champion Stakes, finishing 88
2 of 10 winners ran in the Eclipse, finishing 52

Trainers
Aidan O’Brien (3-2-11) has won 3 of the last 7 runnings of this race.
Dermot Weld (2-1-7) trained the winner in 2005 and saddled the first two home last year.
Saeed Bin Suroor (1-2-7), Michael Stoute (1-1-3) and Kevin Prendergast (1-0-4) have all saddled the winner once in the past decade.
British-trained runners (2-6-23) have won only 2 of the last 10 from approximately 37.1% of the total runners.
French-trained runners (2-1-3) have gained 2 wins and a second from 3 runners. Cutlass Bay had been trained in France by Andre Fabre until she moved to Saeed Bin Suroor earlier this month.

Price
10 of the last 10 winners were priced 7/1 or shorter
Nine runners has been the biggest field for this race since 2000 so it’s no surprise that all winners have gone off at single-figure prices.
Favourites (4-4-10) have won 4 of the last 10 however 4 of the 7 odds-on favourites to run in this have been turned over in the past decade. Favourites show a level stakes loss of 3.84 over past 10 years.

Summary:
Based on the trends from the past 10 years you are looking for a horse:
·         Aged 4
·         Won over 1M 2F or further
·         Won a group 1 or 2 (finished in first 3 in a group 1)
·         Course winner
·         Officially rated 110+
·         Ran in the Irish or French Derbys last season
·         Trained by A O’Brie

No opinion on the 2000 guineas.

I think Gil Na Greine can confirm her Newmarket superiorty despite the Rowley Mile draw bias.
Lolly For Dolly is unexposed and should be in the mix at the business end.

2.40 - Moment of Weakness @4/1 - form of his last win was well and truely franked on Thursday.

3.10 - Rain Delayed @6/1 (Nap) - looks a solid ew bet here, should be good enough to win this.

3.45 - Xtension ew @ 13/2 - has the most solid profile, clear trends pick, and will love the conditions.

4.20 - Shamwari Lodge - short enough @ 8/11, but is a mile clear on ratings and looks one for the doubles and trebles.

if you fancy music show then blue maiden must enter calculations at 25/1 ew (29 here)

he couldnt get out in the race with music show and lost by a closing neck.

in the newmarket 1000, he was drawn on the wrong side hence had no chance

fallon booked for the ride

she*

And she was not hampered as badly as many say in the Nell Gwyn, she was beaten fair and square getting 3lbs. mS had a similar or worse path throw that race.

Music Show wins this, but GL with BM kev she does look a nice ew bet.

and i should of said "she" incase the grammar police are out in full force

Nothing better than the Curragh on a sunny day. Magnificent setting for a great week-ends racing.

Fair dues to staff down there. I was passing at lunch time and there were 6 staff out in the straight with their walking sticks putting back the divots.
