I see he has been named as the best individual player in the history of the European rugby cup to date. Thats quite an achievement. If another Cork individual had ever got a similar award in soccer we would never hear the end of it. The level of negativity towards O'Gara at times is quite amazing.

In fairness the competition is only about 10 years old so it is not a collosal achievment. Also the fact that the French teams often dont give a toss and play 2nd string teams even in the Knockout stages also puts it into perspective.

Well in the 15 years of the tournament you'd have to say that ROG was probably in the top.

He's saved Munster with his cool kicking and tactical play on numerous occasions. He isn't my favourite player in the world and he has his limitations but in the H-Cup he has been an outstanding player.

Fairplay to him and delighted to see how good Irish Rugby has got since the professional era. Now lets hope they don't stick it on RTE and lose the Sky money.

Why does everybody think the IRFU will get a pat on the back and a thank you card for putting it on RTE. RTE will be obliged to pay market rates. Even if they  weren't the diffrrence between the two is not the sum total of what Sky pay's now. They're not going to lose every cent.

What is wrong with people that they can't understand these very simple points.

I actually support the IRFU being allowed make any commercial decision they want to but there are some serious problems with the debate when all logic goes out the window. IT's like Lisbon all over again.
