If so are Betfair charging you a transaction fee? My bank recently switched me from Laser to Visa Debit & I was shocked to be charged a 1.5% fee by Betfair when I used it to deposit today. I was never charged a penny with my Laser card.

Yep, got the new Visa/Ulster bank debit card...

Fee yes, but I only deposit small so it doesn't bother me. If you were going to deposit big, that'd be a slap in the face with a wet fish indeed!

I spoke to Ulster Bank & they maintain that we should not be charged any fee. They are pursuing the matter. I will post back when I have more info.

Speaking of Visa, I was charged a late payment fee on my credit card for the first time. When I pointed it out to them that my Betfair refunds more than covered the minimum payments during the month I was told the following "though the refunds reduce your debt it is not a recognised form of payment from an authorised payment source". Another fee earning racket IMO!

They will refund. Tell them it is a visa debit and not a visa credit card. I had same with cantor and purple and they refunded but never a problem on here.

ulster bank switch from laser to visa debit so they would make more m oney overall, the charges on the visa debit for transactions abroad are way more than laser
