Mandatory Russian involved. Cheers. :^0 Never a fan but thats the problem with individual sports. It`s so easy and happening all the time. He`s just been caught red handed. Idiot.

I remember a year or so ago in that belfast tournament a match between a former world champion based abroad and one of the rising asian stars beaten in the first round this year by a three time world champion.
Most bookies stopped taking bets on a 5-0 scoreline to the asian player , lo and behold you can guess the result.
It confirmed to me the depths to which the sport had plummeted, when a relatively new kid on the block was involved, and after that I didnt bother watching much.

I cant believe this story has any substance,my affection for snooker stems from that classic final of the eighties which at the time resurrected a game that was almost on its knees. The sheer brilliance of Davis at the time was making the game even more boring than it is,he was even money favourite at the time to win each and every tournament he contested. He was 10/1 on against Deadly denis and raced into an early 8-0 lead, then the magic of sport took over.Slowly but surely Taylor(who wouldnt pot them into a bin) began to gain a foothold which ultimately led to that amazing final frame.Yes the frame where the nugget who had won so many tight matches previously in all sorts of tournaments, quite amazingly couldnt hold the que.If i didnt know any better i would have thought something untoward was going on,but not the nugget surely not the nugget.

The new kid did not need to be involved to win 5-0. Only one**player required for a 5-0 scoreline.

It's been rotten for years. I can remember when I started betting in the 80s obvious fixes on frame scores, and there were big names involved. It is a tedious enough 'sport' to watch without the good chance that the whole thing is as about as genuine as Hulk Hogan and the WWF!
