No easy groups in the H Cup any more. One team stands out as a good ew bet from that draw...
By:
I'd take Munsters's draw anyday.
By:
Munster draw the best for many years imo ;) Leinster should come out of their pool too! 3 and 5 look tough!
By:
Northampton have made a few handy signings and won't be pushovers at Franklin's Gardens, Perpignan is also a tough away assignment.....

BELIEVER....If I was a Leinster fan me to would only be confident if I had a bye through to the 1/4 stages.
But you have the nearest thing to a bye in Pool 6. BRIVE are a botton of the French league side. LLANELLI are in a mess at the moment and it would be a toss up between them and the Dragons for worst Welsh team in the Magners League. LONDON IRISH...Flip sake Bourgoin knocked them out of the Challengr Cup by beating them at HOME in the 1/4 finals. Compare that to PERPIGNAN....French DOUBLE LEAGUE Champions in 2009 NORTHAMPTON..Past Heineken Cup winners and Challenge Cup winnere this year. TREVISO...Err the DARK HORSE of Italian Rugby could all be hiding the next Diego Dominguez How MUNSTER is not at least 7/1 on BETFAIR NOW and Leinster into 3/1....God only knows. :^0 |
By:
Brive vs Treviso - Brive harder
Scarlets v Northampton - Agree Scarlets are pants this season but at least they play in H-Cup every year and have experience. They can't be worse than last season. London Irish v Perps - Yeah obviously Perps would beat Irish most of the time but I would fear Irish on a good day they can beat most. Perps played a very limited game in H-Cup this season, got knocked out. |

Perpignan have improved, double French winners as the fella above said, were impressive tactically against Clermont on Saturday too.Leinster should get a home quarter looking at things straight off but they're unlikely to retain the HC.Fair play to them for taking their chance when it came though.
By:
Have backed Leinster @ 10s, fair price imo
Have had a smaller play on Biarritz too @ 22s, should come out of the group and trade shorter Like London Irish too @20s but in the same group as Leinster so left alone for the moment On a more serious note... Come on Munster :p get it together after that shambles last night! |
By:
Kind of insulted billys are still holding the 10s though :^0
By:
10s looks very big imo, obviously very hard to retain but Leinster got a big quality squad now and hard to say theres much between them & Munster who are 7/2.
By:
Think the French will take the HC more seriously given the final is in Paris, will be hard for the Irish to repeat the year they had last yr and theyve had more their fair share of things the last few yrs.S ky bet go 13/8 about a French winner which is a great price it will probably be 10/11 come Monday if Clermont,Touloose,Perpignan,Stade and Biarritz all get off to winning starts.Leinster could bounce against LI after a great performance on Saturday and Northampton will be no pushover either, still both should still win.

Any1 had a play on any of the pools? Biarritz @ 11/8 my only interest so far! Had a solid start to the season, lying 3rd in the Top 14 only 2pts behind Clermont- should have too much for Gloucester and the Dragons- think Glasgow will be the ones to worry about the most, very good pack and the 2 Evans bro's can cause any team problems. Would expect Biarritz to have enough to top the group though.
Clermont maybe worth a play? Hard to have too much faith in the French teams with the Top 14 the priority for most though Could nt be havin Munster at 4/6 after the shambles the weekend Leinster at 10/11 not the worst price, Brive sitting 10th in the Top 14, Scarlets no where near the team they were! London Irish the only dangers to Leinster in the group imo,if it came to a head to head would expect Leinster to see them off though |
By:
going allez les bleus this year. french team to win at 6/4 decent bet on that. clerc and nalaga top tryscorer bets.ellisade e/w top points.
as far as groups iv settled on leinster/toulouse double. |
By:
Nalaga if they start him most games (and dont rest big players in the away fixtures like they usually do) is a massive price at 16s at Lads, have had a punt on him and BOD @ 25s both e/w

By:
RECKON GLASGOW IS THE TEAM TO BE WITH
sorry about the caps backing them to top group and having a nibble at 100/1 to win group |
By:
Allez Leinster!!
30 nil again lads I will be happy with!! |
By:
if they still had rocky elsom they'd be the best team in the world
sexton, healy and maybe even cullen should be starting for ireland in november |
By:
What a disaster for Leinster.
Leinster 9 London Irish 12 |
By:
shocking bad
By:
Some defence from Irish to be fair, very disappointing start for Leinster though :|
By:
cullen :^0
By:
booing out of order.
By:
this result should shut them up for a while :D
By:
over condident after last week
maybe munster threw the match to set leinster into a false sense of security |
By:
The Irish sides are in a spot of bother after only 1 round with exception of Ulster who had a good win over Bath, good win from London Irish v Leinster too, cant say it was a surprise,Irish did their homework and are flying in the GP adding to Leinster bouncing as I felt they might.I think Leinster and Munster will be doing very well to qualify even at this early stage.Allez les Bleus!!! btw what was the booing about? who was booing who?
By:
Munster awesome today!
By:
Good shout in the paper today to lay Perp.
By:
Perpignan haven't been beaten at home in the heinken cup for 5 years, and munster dominated them.
Hopefully they will avoid Leinster in the knockout stages. It would be a fantastic final. Rugby is the strongest it's ever been in ireland, and the grand slam is definitely on again even with the more difficult away fixtures. |
By:
great response from the Irish sides, wasnt looking good early on,right back in the mix now,the French will have strength in numbers come the quarters though and home advantage to the French could be pivotal yet....
By:
Leinster are a class apart.
I was down in Munster yesterday. It was all red red red. Great to be back in the Blue part of the world. Can't see Munster beating Leinster any time soon. |
By:
not so sure soaap, would fancy Munster to beat Leinster right now that was some performance v Perpignan,Paul o Connell is cute though talking up Leinster in his post match comments while playing his own team down....
By:
Any1 hear any stories about ROG? Supposed to be up to his eyeballs again :( and wont be bailed out this time
By:
Bring it on!!
By:
If he is BJG his performances last 2 weeks have been excellent , its all sh1te
He is entitled to gamble , its his money and he earns more than most in ireland People love to** others, its people, when he does a bruce grobelaar then i will believe it, if he does the munster pack guys who have lived with him for the past 10 years will disown him |
By:
BJG,
Believe you are right, but I've been told that it was property investments that went wrong. Most of those contracted by the IRFU have been investing in property. Some just invested more than others & have lost a packet. Macrocky, A bit of reality here. He hasn't been excellent. He has played well & kicked very well, but that's about as good as it's going to get with him these days. He still hasn't made a decent line-break, broken a tackle, created a try with a pass in those two games. (de Villiers still had an awful lot to do to score his try compared to Hurley from Warwick's pass.) Being dropped by Kidney was the best thing to happen to him as he'd been playing very poorly for years before that. |

Toulouse / Stade Francais v Leinster/ Clermont
Biarritz / Ospreys V Munster:/ Northampton A profitable pool stages for once! BOD top tryscorer down de swanny- Nalaga (5) sittin 2 behind Bowe (7) so still in wit a shout! 2 o/r bets still in but neither are gettin to the final imo :( Leinster will have their work cut out to beat Clermont imo in the quarter and face a trip to France if they can get through- Would expect Toulouse to have too much for Stade- Have nt been impressed with Stade this year and think Toulouse will dispose of em comfortably Biarritz/Ospreys is a 50/50 game, been impressed with Biarritz so far but Ospreys can be very good on their day (can be very bad too though) Munster to beat Northampton again imo too |
By:
BJG...Couldn't argue with your assumptions there for the 1/4 final.
Leinste with the drawr have it all to do now to retain their trophy. B-) |
By:
Hopefully Biarritz can scrape past the Ospreys, should give me a chance to trade out then - Dunno wat to do wit Leinster- really think Clermont will beat em in the Quarter- will se closer to the time- mite let it ride and pray :^0
By:
looks likely there will some home interest in the final this year, any French team will be hard stopped at home no matter who it is,Ospreys would have a fair chance if they get over Biarritz, dont fancy any Irish team to be there this year,if anything an all French final is more probable than an all Irish one....
