Afternoon guys, I'm moving to Ireland soon and would appreciate a bit of help in pointing me in the direction of the best broadband providers for the Conna, Co Cork area. I think I've got mobiles and Sky TV all sorted but the broadband looks a bit of a nightmare. Thanks in advance.

I live in this area and your only solutiion is the home plus broadband package from www.ripplecom.net or 1890 747 753. it's €39.99 per month incl VAT. Not cheap but the fastest and most reliable - We might have cabled broadband in the area in the next century but in the meantime this is your best option. I have tried others in the past that are cheaper like Vodafone but you coulnd't trust the reliability of the link or speed of service.

Cheers for replies guys. I'll have a look at ripplecom.

Scamboogah, does that include the line rental or will I need to get someone else to put a telephone line in?

Ignore that last question. I've just seen that no phone line is required. Again, thanks for the help

There is a transmission mast in the area - they will**a small dish in your house as part of the service.

I've been in touch and made an appointment for them to come out when we move in and sort everything out. I see they have a referral program and I'm happy to give them your details so you get the free month or whatever it is out of it.

Okay, will do. You never know, I might even buy you a drink as well. I think there's a pub in the village called The Winner's Enclosure or something like that!

Don't bother with the dongles, you won't get coverage in that area.

My dad's from near Conna, nice part of the world.
