His dad is Ray Carroll vital memeber of the DK Weld set up for years, understudy when Mick Kinane was 1st jockey.
By:
He rode for Oxx back in the 70's. Very promising jock in his day.
By:
Thanks lads.
By:
was unlucky do be disqualifed on Sorbus in the Oaks for Oxx.
A ridiculous decision. He was the equivalent of wayne Lordan today. A middle of the range jockey. |
By:
Fair play soap, there's nowt wrong with your memory!!
By:
woulld be unfair to say wayne is mid range?id class him as top rate
By:
Probably right Kavvie.
I tell you his grand father was good too. The bould Frankie Carroll!! A good lightweight NH jockey. |
By:

Results are all you need. Not for me ----- knowledge is power mate,. |

By:
Bert Auld and Frankie Shortt I think. John Shortt's old man.
All I heard about Frankie Carroll going back many years. He was seen at Lough Derg one year and a Jackeen said out aloud surely he won't put us wide HERE if we ask him for a tip!! |

i was talking to frank ennis tonight at naas soaap,we started reminising about baldoyle and the 1ml 6fur hurdle races , he told me he was riding a mare who knocked the hurdle out of the ground and as they arrived at the next hurdle another jockey called out to him pull her up, pull her up , he looked down and saw a stake from the previous hurdle sticking out of her chest , she fell over and bleed to death and gave him a terrble fall , those were the days .

By:

By:
michael halford is his master, pity he is giving him sfa.18 rides for him no winner.
By:
That would be the strike rate for most of Halford's jocks in fairness!
By:
dont think so distant, shane foley 69 rides and 6 winners for him
By:
Rory Cleary gone out of the yard. SFA rides from Halford.
