Have to say I'm quite surprised with the demotion/shafting of Hanafin, one of the few competent ministers in my opinion...

O'Cuiv given a promotion... why?

Coughlan Minister for Education, frightening really.. what grip does she have over Cowen?

Other new ministers promoted for reason of political location... ie Killeen as mid west, minister for defense...

The complete disproportion of representation the Greens have in cabinet relative to their electoral support is equally troubling..

I know its ridiculous to be surprised by anything that occurs in Irish politic's but think Cowen as a leader of this country has wasted his last chance of salvation by this lackluster reshuffle...

There are far too few Greens in the cabinet.

Lenihans latest jibberish today about the opposition being in opposition for far too long takes some beating.

Mr Cowen also announced the setting up of a Public Service Board, which aims to accelerate public service reform in consultation with the unions.

Junior minister Dara Calleary will also be assigned to push through change in the public service.

As I said in orginal post... totally agree...The complete disproportion of representation the Greens have in cabinet relative to their electoral support is equally troubling..

It shows the extent FF are willing to go to to stay in power...

Former Junior Minister says Cowen should go

A former Junior Minister has called for the removal of Brian Cowen as Taoiseach and leader of Fianna Fáil.

John McGuinness has told KCLR 96fm that Mr. Cowen has put party and tribalism first, and the country second.

For days now murmurings of disquiet in the Fianna Fáil backbenches have been emerging.

Last night, a group of them started making soundings about a possible heave against Mr Cowen.

And this morning the Carlow Kilkenny TD John Mc Guinness has gone a step further.
