My two against the field in the Irish Lincoln are -
Designate Decoy - 3rd last year, runs here of only 3lbs higher, has had a prep run this year on the AW which looks to be a bonus as both wins have come after 12 and 5 day breaks. EW @14/1.
Crystal Idea - first run for its new stable, was 2nd fto last year and won his maidn over the CD after a nice little break(55days), 7lbs claim leaves him on a nice mark. EW @25/1.

I'd love to know if someone did a lucky 15 or yankee at the morning prices. Tommy did mention after the first 2 went in, that the others would love the ground as well. Boomkakers were very slow to react after the 3 timer went in.

Massive crowd down there. probably all the freebys out of the two annuals. I couldn't get a place to park in the members. 1st time in many a long day.
The closing of the road at the back of the stand for pedestrians was crazy. It was a long walk for the pensioners through the car park. Accidents could happen.
Jim Bolger had two box loads of horses. When i was going in his first lot were making there way home.
The Curragh made a few improvements.
1) A nice little park at the back of the champagne bar which will be nice in the summer when the plants have flowered.
2) A new tote lounge ala Punchestown and Galway. A bit noisy. Pity they don't put a few bookies spread around the bars. It would save having to stretch the legs and come down.

Soapp, The Curragh have had the entire winter to get their act together and whilst their have been improvements there have also been deteriorations. 1. I would consider it esssential that the race card contain the names of all horses running at that meeting. 2. If you wanted to enter the racecard draw you had to sacrifice (ie tear out) half the field for the feature race before the race was run. 3. Car Parking is a total joke and virtually everyone I met complained to me about it. I really take exception to an Annual Members Car Park which I was told was full when I could count at least 40 spaces. To add insult to injury it was full of cars which displayed no sign of the car park badge required. The injury was further compounded by parking in Cark Park 6 (down near the now closed West End entrance) which was littered with glass. Welcome to a new season at the Headquarters of Irish racing and please bring a pair of hiking books and a compass it you intend travelling by car....
On the plus side the plate of *****for the kids was 20c cheaper from the new catering franchisees.
Note to the Curragh, don't waste your money on marketing until you can get the basics right for those who will go racing. Keep cheesing the punters off and they won't return.
