One of the guys on the rptv preview a week or so ago gave HBS as his bet "wherever he runs", also tipped barwell bridge to swoop off a fast pace in the triumph. (One of their editors i think he was)

HEY BIG SPENDER
7 b g Rudimentary - Jim's Monkey. Useful two mile hurdler rated 130 but much better chaser from two and a half to three miles. Twice a winner and second twice all four starts over fences this season, beat Fistral Beach three and three quarter lengths over three miles at Newbury in November and rated 138 when beating Edgebriar ten lengths over two five at Cheltenham January 30. Now 146. "Won handicaps at Newbury and Cheltenham so he's good and improving but I'm not getting carried away with what he beat at Newbury. The main thing is his jumping's looking pretty sure-footed at big tracks now and he seems to show more and more pace of the gallops. The Jewson at Cheltenham is a good option and soft side of good is fine but nothing much tighter. I think he's our best Cheltenham chance." |

Timeform from the site.
Taken well to chasing, jumping soundly on way to handicap wins at Newbury and more recently over C&D (powered clear). 8 lb rise for latter win looks very fair given there is more to come. |
