You have valid point there, and I also like Shakervilz. Schindlers Hunt and Mourad will like good ground are great each way bets.

Look for the ones who will improve on better ground. Simple ;)

Your caution is noted and very valid WR . Pity they have the track in a state nowadays with the drainage that they need to water if it doesn't rain for a few days . NH racing to me is about soft ground.

was looking at shakervilz as a good e/w shout for the arkle? will it be too quick for him u think. looking at the stats, he ticks alot of boxes

lol @ Mourad.... he is the new Atlantic Rhapsody, a layers dream. He broke his maiden in the stewards room and won a non event in Punchestown when the one in front fell in a hole and he couldnt help but win. Lads thinking of backing this lad need to call a board meeting with themselves.

im new on here btw.

I often think irish horses are labelled bog lovers because we seem to race on heavy ground every week from november onwards. However a lot of our horses love decent ground and its a lease of life getting good ground after pulling their hooves out of the muck .There is a much classier animal being kept in ireland these days thus these horses like good ground.
Im expecting a very good cheltenham for irish trasined horses , will we get 7+ winners ?

I really like the look of Shakervilz for the Arkle... he didn't stay the trip in the world hurdle last yr despite travelling very well...i'm on at 35;s +..... would be crazy to enter him in RSA

Mullins set to run Sportsline and Quiscover Fontaine in Arkle...Shakervilz more likely to run in RSA,if at all.

Mullins tipped up Shakervilz for the Arkle at a preview last week.
Said he was better value at 33s than Sportsline was at 10s

Even Arkle would have difficulty winning the RSA this year.Shakervilz will be an excellent bet for the Arkle because Sportsline will set it up for him.I can see Shaker outstaying Sport but only a mad man would enter a horse for the RSA this year if he had a choice.

How did Arkle appear in this thread ? Arkle is Holy Ground . Rated 27 in front of Kauto , what price would Kauto be for the RSA ,bearing in mind he is 8-11 to beat Denman and others in the Gold Cup ?

Most of the horses trained outside Ireland dont stay , particularly given heavy ground . Good ground just evens that fact up a bit as far as the competition between Irish and UK horses go . This is obviously a generalisation , but Workrider's comments re caution seem valid to me . We will still win our share , but a close look at better ground Irish performers may yield dividends .

just asking myself a question here ,i know 1st sign of madness and all that ,wondering if backing every runner from leading 3 english stables would yield a profit @ cheltenham this year ?
