man claims to be Son of God and 2000 years later people still can't have a drink on the day he died........

seems a bit ridiculous to me, why not open the pubs and have the catholic church announce that their belief is that nobody should frequent them on Good Friday. I bet a grand to a bowl of rice there'd be more people in my local that there would be in the church beside it.

There was a Limerick man on the radio this morning claiming if this game was on in Dublin the pubs would be allowed open!?

if the church wants to retain churchgoers it neds a radical overhaul.

if you look at the mass ceremony objectively it's people chanting and singing along with a guy dressed in weird robes...
most of the words they chant mean very little to them and the ones that do are often recited without thought.

Compare that to any cult around the world there's not much difference..

This Good Friday abstinence rule is outdated just like the fish on fridays rule was, what difernece does it make what type of meat you eat, is a fish less on an animal than a cow?
Pre-marital sex and co-habitation, contraception divorce...the church were wrong on those too and those forced many people into marriages that didn't work.

The church should try to lead by example the way JC did instead of setting out rules for others...Sinead O'Connor wasn't far off the mark

why does a secular state close pubs on a religious holiday? it's like something out of the 1600's

Boycott the match for a different reason,its a load of rubbish thats why.Id rather go to 10 masses than go and see this nonsense.30 gorillas chasing after an egg for 80 mins aint my idea of entertainment.Rugby isnt bad if some of the top teams are playing namely the big 3 southern hemisphere sides and France.But Munster and Ireland and even England play a different brand,its puke rugby,its not entertaining,its not appealing to any neutral either.Half the time nobody knows where the ball is,and the games are full of spoiling and gamesmanship.Ireland got their comeuppence in Paris and were shown for exactly what they are,an appalling group of talentless maulers.O Driscoll being the one and only Irish player that might get a game with a top team.
