Yes I was there. Left at the interval due to it being ruined by two different lads in the crowd mouthing at the panel. One oul lad was locked and had a grievance with anything Davy Russell said and the other lug was constantly asking waffling questions to the panel and just generally being annoying. Everyone was telling them to shut up but it didn't seem to work. The panel were fairly poor in my opinion, they were more interested in**ging the other panel members off than actually saying something interesting. The only ones who I thought were good were Johhny Ward (not just because he is on here) and Christian Williams who both just gave their honest humble opinion and didn't try and be contraversial just for the sake of it.
The panel were there to give their opinion - if I wanted to know why somebody in the crowd couldn't understand why Go Native wasn't favourite for the Champion Hurdle then I would have asked him in the interval. Really p'd me off that chap.
Really wanted to hear what they said about the RSA but could't stick it for a minute longer.
Was at the gallops after racing very close to the action and was right beside Willie Mullins when he was asked for his summary on all horses by Tony O'Hehir and he seemed especially happy with Uimhiraceathair, J'vole & Quevega if that is any use to anyone. Also saw Ruby talking to Willie after he hopped off Mick Dag and just purely from judging his reaction and trying to lip read I don't think he was all to impressed and think I seen him say that he needed that blow out. Obviously the last piece of info is sketchy at best because I was about 5 or 6 metres away but that was my judgement.
Thanks

**gy you weren't there. It was embarrassing. Two women who were sat beside the oul lad got up and left after an hour.
They clearly stated that before the interval they would take questions from the floor yet these two idiots didn't understand.

Pity he wasn't so sweet in Navan a few years ago when Pay to Production "beat" him!
Yeah I think he should run well but a difficult race to win.
(I don't own the horse by the way but know the lads who do)

Dun Doire, those two eejits actually left at the interval which was a relief. There was a good bit of banter in the second half and it wasn't a bad preview on a whole.

Dun Doire the horse got a favourable mention in the second half, by DN Russell I think.

EMI?

There were no charity bets, which was a bit pointless really considering they probably wanted to make as much money as possible.
Davey was hopeful rather than confident about Solwhit and sais Go Native is the main danger. He was in fine spirits and nearly got into a spat with that eejit from the crowd. He fancies Dun Doire and Tavern Times (if he runs). He also said that he thought Tiger Cry was a cert last year!!!!
Chapman was in the Denman and 'run Dunguib in the Champion Hurdle' corner and he thinks AP cud win the GC on Denman. He thinks Big Buck's is a steering job but then again, he said the same about Kasbah Bliss last year lol!
Gary is a massive Cee Bee fan and like J'Y Vole in the Ryanair while Christian didn't appear overly sweet on anything. EMI likes Secant Star and Solwhit and said to lay Denman for a place, Tony Mullins, from what racing he saw this year (he's been on loads of holidays apparantly) says Cee Bee is a machine and he'd have the Mullins Millions on him if he had any. And also that they don't stop talking about Enterprise Park in Willie's yard. Kevin O'Ryan thought Kauto will win by a mile, like everbody bar Chapman, and that Smullen will ride whichever horse Weld runs in the bumper. He'll only run the one accor to KOR.
That was it mainly, the banter was very funny and they also took in questions from the audience which worked quite well. Good night!

one who did get a mention was Super Kenny in the Triumph - unraced (over hurdles) of Hendersons, well thought of and goes at Newbury on Friday.

more in the Dun Diore camp re the evening - thought it was a bit of a zoo to be honest - Kevin O'Ryan annoying (and wrong as it turns out re the Weld pair in the bumper), Russell and Chapman out to** each other for their mutual amusement and Tony Mullins was a bit of a joke IMO. The pair launching in from the floor didnt help either. GOB was his usual steady self and looked a bit embarrassed by what was going off I thought.

Agree with Dun Doire, those lads asking questions from the floor were annoying. I thought the biggest positive for the evening was Punchestowns in the RSA. RE: the Arkle, lots of Captain Cee Bee fans, and all the panel against Sizing Europe - especially with de Bromhead's stable in such poor form.

I thought it was a decent preview, but no better. Dragged on a fair bit with all the interaction with the crowd, which imo didn't add anything to the evening.

I didn't wait until the end - did Chapman get those jugs he was after!?

"Would be nice if anyone in the crowd at these previews ever asked an intelligent question"

Spot on. I think a good idea would be if everyone was allowed write down one question to be handed in at the interval. Panel pick 10 questions that they will answer at the end with absolutely no interaction from the crowd.
Just a thought.....Maybe EMI could pull a few strings next time?!
