I see that kicks off this evening.

Its usually a FUN BET for the season and can even put you on the right track for the rest of the season if you have a nibble in this market.

Has anyone any views on it? The Jury seemed to be out with the bookies the last time I looked at this market. Some have Murtagh as favourite while one I think has Berry. Which basically means Smullen is the good thing. :^0

I would give Fran Berry the nod myself. Now that Kinane won't be riding all the Oxx good things in the Maidens he should get the extra 20 or winners he will need based on a normal season score to edge it.

He also probably doesn't need to rely as much on his own stable as Smullen and Murtagh will. As he usually rides for a very wide selection of trainers which can be handy, if the Oxx stable ends up going through a little lull during the season.

Murtagh of course has all the O'brien hot pots but I wonder how keen he is on the title this year after winning it back last year. I be inclined to think if it comes to the crunch at the end of the season he will say to himself have the t-shirt let somebody else take his turn now.

Smullen of course will fight tooth and nail and will be there abouts so his chance will be down to Weld and how many maidens and 3 years he has this season.

Hard to make a strong case for the rest.
Manning 33/1 could always surprised with a stable like Bolger behind him.
Lordan 33/1 would be the dark horse especially if something like injury or suspension hit. Murtagh . Though Hefferman 66/1 might have a say in that.
As for past champion McDonagh 33/1 nobody saw that year title going his way at this stage of the season back them so who knows.

But generally it should be a shoot out between the big 3 but which one will get it I be interested to hear your view......Cheers

PS...I missed the early prices and now the season has started they have been taken down for the night. So the 33/1 are only a guide I'm sure there's better to be found if your feeling that way inclined. ;)

3/1 Berry looks a steal. He is starting out tonight. He gets a lot more outside winners than Smullen imo.

Game set and match.

Yeah OLDBEAN can't really complain about those prices. A guy would certainly get his value out of a few quid on Berry at 3/1.

**GY, wants to know what price your offering on JP O'brien? :^0

I wonder has he any hope of EVER winning the title. Weight will probably be his undoing....... Thats O'Brien not**gy. ;)
