any one lucky enough to have been there sunday, favs nearly went threw the card ,was in killaloe myself winners not as easy to come by,banked on the DOC in the bumper tipped up wit race at his mercy
Yeah was in Kildorrey alrite. Only two favs got beat in all of the divides and one of them was the only fav I happened to back. Racing was competitive in the main but not too many stand out performers. Kevin O'Sullivans newcomer Alone He Stands was the main runner with star potential. He travelled eyecatchingly well in a divide of the 5yo and had the odds on fav in his pocket when unseating Mikey O'Connor at the last. Looks a good thing to recoup the losses if givin another run in a point. Terence O'Brien ended up scoring a lucky double in the 5yo maidens as a result of Alone He Stands exit, both sons of Revouqe and both ridden by Richie Harding. Corrigans Road looked one to waych for future reference too. On The Net won a competitive renewal of the open under Con McSweeney, beating Dreux and Whyso Mayo, to book his trip to the Cotswolds for the Foxhunters next month. The Jimmy Mangan trainedand Damien Murphy ridden Overnight Fame continued her progress to justify a short price in a divide of the mares and looks a leading candidate for the Gain Mares Final. Maid In Moscow won the other divide and was rewarded for a couple of good runs but will be up against it if she heads to Ballynoe. Island Peak won the winners race for rider/handler Mikey O'Connor to continue the good run of shorties. There was a bit of an upset in the last as Teaforthree couldn't land the odds behind a suprise winner whose name I can't remember. The bad part about the favs winning early was the ring quicky fell apart and there were a few people there that shouldn't have been left near a p2p so value was in short supply. There was a very sizeable crowd present, no doubt helped by the abandonment of Naas and the english racing.
