That is the deadline the new consortium and fans group FORAS have given Tom Coughlan to reach a deal on taking over the club.

According to FORAS Coughlan has been anything but forthcoming in trying to get these deal done in spite of what he says in the media. Due diligence was being carried out and debts of 600k are now looking like closer to 900k after the creditors were contacted.

If I was to call it I think the will pull out.

That will more than likely see Cork City Investment FC fold as it has no chance of getting a license in its present form.

This will see FORAS establishing a new club in 1st division for 2010.

Foras taking over will improve things no end eventually. A Shamrock Rovers-style set-up is how Irish football clubs should be run.

I`m sure Cork would love to have their debt written off like Rovers did so they can have a perfectly run club too!

D Day me hole

9th Feb - Quintas Group can confirm that no deal has yet been reached on the sale of Cork City FC. While significant progress has been made, a number of outstanding issues remain to be resolved before a deal can be completed. Negotiations are continuing between the groups.

NEGOTIATIONS STALLED ON CORK CITY FC

19th February 2010 Quintas Group, on behalf of Peter Gray, Michael OConnell and FORAS, the Cork City Supporters Trust, can confirm that negotiations have stalled with Tom Coughlan in relation to the takeover of Cork City FC. An offer was made to the current owners of the club this afternoon and there has been no meaningful engagement in relation to the bid.

At this stage, the group has focused on the FORAS plan for a 1st division licence. The group would like to thank all the third parties that have been supportive of the bid and have facilitated the process.

Don't know what to think.

Half of me says lets just leave Coughlan in the hole he dug himself.

The FAI wont give you much longer to sort it out. Any other club would already be thrown out.

giant ,i noticed bohs were quick to take our money when we rented dalyer , the only reason bohs have lasted so long when you think of it ,is simply from the rents they recived from both loi clubs who played their europeon games there ,plus the enourmus some they recived from the fai for internationl games when i might add that ground was fit for internationl football. no other team in the history of the loi has recived so much gate recipts yet look at the state of dalymount .so before you go calling the kettle black have a little look inwords .how bohs have reached the financial void is a question for bohs themselves to answer.

So the situation is that if the "Independent" Licensing Committee give the ok for City to get a Premier license that we will take our place in the top division in 2 weeks.

Sad night for Cork soccer supporters, but a deserved break for Bray who only ended up where they are because they stuck to the rules laid down and also have kept a dignified silence on the matter since last summer even though they have been badly messed around.
