maybe sexton sat and ROG v france
By:
Hard to believe that Sexton not now seen as the incumbent.

WHO CARES!!!
By:
Sexton starts. ROG gets Scotland game at the end to win the slam.
By:
rog starts
sexton comes on in 60th minute |
By:
think Sexton will start on Sat, with Rog being given 25-30 mins. With nothing between them form wise, Sexton should be given his wings in this 6N with a view towards 2011 WC.
By:
i doubt anybody would have a prob with that
at the end of the day, its only italy( who are without parisse) but right now ROG is playng well again and sexton is just back from injury so on forim ROG may deserve the place more right now its great to have options at 10 again for the first time in years |

O'Gara has done enough after a shakey start to the season to hold onto the 10 jersey, but its impossible to second guess Kidney so Sexton could well start. Sexton is able to handle himself better than O'Gara so that might give him the nod against the Italians who like a good scuffle.

By:
But offer no real treat to the 10/12 channel. Its Sexton's jersey to lose imo but I'm not fussed who starts.

sexton not on the bench due to injury |
By:
trimble starts
fair play to kidney- i didnt think he'd jump back that quickly into the first team- horgan must be fuming but then hes better at 14 at he aint going to take bowes place kidney really is a man of his word- form is everything- no more holding onto your shirt till you retire |
By:
Spread was 24 now 21, was all over that 24 with Italy, might go back for more with the 21

Mclaughlin is a curious one is it?
Where are Sean O'Brien? Neil Best? Alan Quinlan? Shane Jennings please? |
By:
Only reason you would pick O'Gara in front of Sexton on recent form ( 2 years approx) is if one of Sexton's legs was not working .
Sexton is bigger , stronger , better rugby player . Only thing in O'Gara's favour is his tactical kicking . My views on O'Gara date back 5 years at least . Not just knocking him on his recent (2 year ) poor form . |

rule4 will apply 02 Feb 16:10
Mclaughlin is a curious one is it? Where are Sean O'Brien? Neil Best? Alan Quinlan? Shane Jennings please? Best is out of favour witht the Saints and has shown no form this season Quinlan is 45 years old and will hardly make the WC Jennings plays 7 and has played a total of one game since october O Brien is on the bench as he can cover the entire backrow and will definetely get a run McLaughlin has been tremendous for Leinster this season |

ok redroar cheers....the lad Ronan form Munster? well that plays with Munster??
By:
Ronan also a 7

Trimble was nailed on once Ferris was injured and Wallace couldn't start ahead of Darcy on form. They have to justify the embarassment that is 'Ireland's Call'.
By:
Yeah I heard that nonsense on Today FM as well. Days of the token Ulster player are long past.

Not entirely convinced about that, Redroar, though clealry political considerations do not play a signiicant part in selection as they once did.
I would imagine, however, that if there was nothing between 2 players vying for a position, then the Ulster lad would get the nod if there was no Ulster representation throughout the rest of the team. There remains a significant layer of amateur volunteer administrative Blazers below the professional coaching set up. They appoint the coaching staf, the coaches report to them, and political posturing, horse trading and manouering still play a part. |
