Stormont building would make a nice hotel . Sometimes I think the main reason for continuing it as a seat of rule is because it is there .

Must cost a fortune to maintain , to legislate ( sometimes ) for about 1.5 million citizens .

The alternatives --being run from London by less than satisfactory regimes or hooking up with discredited Southern politicians -- are not exactly attractive .

If you were able to handpick the decent people from each party in the North , give them autonomy and their head , they would be good . But mired in sectarian history , real politics are always having to run uphill .

While I think the Ryan Tubridy interview of Enda Kenny was particularly poor....
the question he asked Kenny as to why he refuses to even consider Sinn Fein as a possible partner in government while Irish Government officials including our fearless (sic) leader Brian Cowen is up north pontificating to the DUP on power sharing is a bit rich....
