TRIP Near all previous winners in the past 14 or so had won over 3 miles (priests leaps first win is the breaker). Indeed more often or not they had multiple victories over the trip or a definitive performance winning over it once. I would weight this stat highly.
LAST RUN A run within 2 to 4 weeks. Not necessarily good form lto either. This Is Serious in 2002 finished 9th while Mickos Dream in 2000, Bob Treacy in 1999 and Wylde Hide all finished PU in the PP chase before going on to win this. Recently decent form over incorrect trip or a decent spin over hurdles seems to be the prep.
AGE/EXPERIENCE Winner is aged 10 yo or younger (bob treacy won at 12 but was a weak race and he loved the track - 7 wins there in total). Its also a 1st or 2nd season chaser with less than 12 runs to his name (BT/PL the exceptions here), Avoid exposed handicappers also (5+ h/c starts).
MARK Highest winning mark was 133 (be my belle who had won easy off 131 over 3 miles prior and PL who scooted in the year before and was off 132 here allowing for claim ) and the mean mark is about 123. All had shown the near personal best form in the current season. Dont be looking at horses coming back to form and, besides, novices or 2nd season chasers should be on the upward curve. 10-13 or less seems a decent trend now also.
Just the one neg so a good argument could be made by his supporters. He never looked like a horse that want s to lump 12 stone around gowran to me and id need more convincing about dessies form at present.
3 equus maximus 11-7 Trip check but ? Prep nope Experience nope Mark nope
Nearly a whitewash of nopes. His 3m chase win was against forest leaves who needed heavy ground and another mile. Looks like shorter would suit better and not well in but cant discount any from this stable.
Ran well last year. Plotting a national campaign imo and this could be seen as a mark reduction mission? As per EM nothing is ruled out with this stable
5 beroni 11-3

Great read. Was swaying towards siegmaster but after reading that You a make a great case for paddy pub. Plus they are weighted to finish on top of each other after Leopardstown. That 16s is drying up.

dk - think the softer ground and the opposite direction will more than level it up myself. siegemaster could be a class act but this is not his race imo

Wd plat. Am a fan of siegemaster, had him ew @25s the last day, but its his jumping that puts me off tomorrow, makes too many mistakes to get close enough under these big weights.
Footy Facts & Whinestone Boy for me. GL.

I would have to agree with NI, Selection Box is nicely priced at 40/1 . He has been very unlucky in some of his most recent runs so ignore those alphabet form figures. Stable had a winner at Naas on tuesday.

mug stake-saving treble secant star, oscar dan dan, paul kristian (about 7/2 at best prices)
2-05 carnbridge (can make a virtue of race-fitness and low weight)
2-35 lochan lacha, hangover (the pick of the outsiders: good jumper, handles the going, low weight, course winner)
3-05 uimhiraceathair (worth a punt against the top two; sam adams looks ungenuine, jered has a clear preference for better going)
3-35 borolee

looks all about being prominent at gowran today; nothing getting into races from off the pace... bookies could get front two beat in the next; orpheus valley likely to lead (fancy pices gone), tinakellylad also likely to be up there... hopefully flanagan make all again on borolee in the other hcap chase

The photo in todays RP of Mangan and Noel O`Brien is symptomatic of everything that is wrong with racing in this country. Maybe I`m naive, but I cant imagine the BHB handicappers chuckle with connections in the winners enclosure of a big race in England.

Norn was first up with the tip. Great picking despite a negative from Plat.
As soon as I got to the track the word was for Whinstone Boy who I had a saver on. It actually came from connections. Opening show was 7's , ended at 5/1. I was hoping for Siegemaster who lost his chance with a mistake at the first in the home straight.

Dont mind that ghoul plattini. He makes a case for about 6 horses none of which win.Gives the winner no chance and amazingly we hear no more from him on this thread.Anybody who takes any notice of any cybernutters opinions has only himself to blame.Surely this obvious lack of knowledge deserves an apology at least.

In all fairness Cooldine plat is one of the decent lads on here.
Always gives an opinion before the race and his write ups obviously take some time and are appreciated by most on here and the ante-post forum.
Oh and as a matter of interest I remember a similar write up in 2007 on the same race when he tipped up Homer Wells @ 33-1 but you probably missed that preview.

NO'B is a lick-arse. Anytime I ever see him at the races he is apparently, and with great animation, trying to justify himself to trainers. Pathetic.
