not really GS, I really fancied him today. Missed the 7s in the morning, even though I checked at 9am.. touched 1.04. Backed Roll Over Rover e-w in the last and he came fourth. Desperate run.

Ouch! I just read the winner was lucky on the main forum so I presumed it was ours that wasn`t.

totally agree Poonha, not saying he would definitely have won if kicked on earlier but I dunno why he was waiting so long when any mistake at all at the last was virtually sure to cost him race

Ordinarily I would agree, but I take it neither of you saw it ridden the day it landed a huge touch for Veitch at Ripon last Summer. Clearly needs to be delivered late. I actually thought his flat speed would win because he was so close at the last. Very disappointing.

They drew quite a way clear (Tanto and Tocca), both could turn out to be decent hurdlers imo.

I thought Carberry gave Muirhead a stinker of a ride. It was El Gran Senor/ Secreto all over again.
Why oh why didn't he go on between the last two when he was show boating. This would have sickened Ebadyan who would have not had anything to aim at. I know I am speaking a little through my pocket having laid the winner at 14.5 for £2 |

in all fairness soapp i thought he was sure he had dev cooked but forgot about the winner , having said that muirhead hung badly into the winner on the run in , finds little off the bridle imo ,the new harchibald .it was one of the coldest days ever at naas today ,i dont know if its just me but is ruby riding them all the same way.very poor today on a couple of mounts imo.

WR, I was talking to someone there today. He said it was bitter.
I had word for Mister Bob. i took 7/4. 5/2 was available earlier. Some gamble 11/8. I'd say the bookies were taken to the cleaners again today. Davy Hyland wasn't there on Sunday. Was he around today!! |

Ebadyian probably would have won anyway because Carbs wasn't holding onto a whole pile between the last two imo. That straight in Naas is a great leveller and the honest galloper won.
On another note Paul Nolans horses seem to be running below par since the cold snap. Good few shorties turned over lately. Alpha Ridge didn't really travel a yard today and its testament to Ruby that he went so close. Does anyone know how affected his gallop was? |

no soapp he was not , had my 1st bet with your friend mr griffin in the opener no joy , i backed five star allstar w/o 2 @ 9/2 for small money only winner i had today, there were 18 favs beaten on the trot in ireland since sunday including both days at thurles , no soapp the bookies have been having a beano last couple of days .

Yeah your right WR i'd say. Bookies must have had a ferocious day in Thurles yesterday. I was there Sunday and their bags were getting heavy too. Only ones to get a scolding were the ones laying in Kilfeacle, DOC day there cost them a pretty penny. Odds on after odds on getting stuffed since the weekend. Its always the same with me, whenever bookies are rolling in it I tend to do well and whenever punters get on a roll I seem to lose.

allduckornodinner, they were smiling from ear to ear at naas today, though the crowd was small ,the biggist bet i heard called today was 2,000 to win 5,000 telenor .looked the winner when it passed alpha but never got home ,one to watch over shorter imo.

Been watching Telenor since very early in his career. Gorgeous individual and always looked a chaser. Travelled fierce well today and then stopped like he was shot which is a bit worrying. I wouldn't say he is a nonstayer but its possible he was held up by the weather too and is short of match practice. Dreapers aren't flying it either I think. To be fair he is only starting to come to himself now too and in 12 months time he could be heading for the Thyestes after winning the Paddy Power!!

Yeah Norn there are some trainers who are always thinking a good bit down the line and don't ever really waste runs, especially with novice horses. Dreaper is a good example because his owners afford him their patience and he sets out to do the rest. Probably a bit tounge-in-cheek about them two but I do believe they will both win plenty of chases.

Yeah think Sports Line will have too much class for Take The Breeze myself. Should be a great weekends racing and have a few pots of jam lined up for there and also in the p2p's

Davy Hyland I was told was in Thurles on Sunday. He has a back line pitch in Fairyhouse which is a grave yard place to be.
A race reader told me Telenor and Alpha Ridge cut each others throts on that ground. Carberry read it right. WR, plenty of favs kept me right on Sunday in Fairy AL 11/10 with Paddy's The Hurl 9/4 with Rory Durkin ScotsIrish 2/1 with david Kearney Cousin Vinny 4/7 with Rory D :( Saddlers Storm 1/1 with Harney Bros Romanesco 4/5 with Betfair to small money :( Roll on Gowran tomorrow. Should be a great day. |
