Report moneypenny January 3, 2010 10:58 AM GMT
2 bruce shops in Waterford and Tramore closed just befoe christmas.
Report ko2 January 3, 2010 10:59 AM GMT
i knnow of a few shops around the country who offered this. most of them are now closed.......
Report Blackwater January 3, 2010 11:32 AM GMT
I'm in Meath and most of the independents here do it.

I did the maths once and it's not as big a concession as some people seem to think.

After all, you've got to have 14 losing bets before you qualify for the bonus.
Report shaggykev January 3, 2010 12:34 PM GMT
14 losing bets

easy peasy

sure a 4/1 winner and you are in profit
Report tobywong. January 3, 2010 12:39 PM GMT
money back 1 winner on a yankee at 9/4 or better in wicklow town is unreal
Report Eddie Batt January 3, 2010 1:31 PM GMT
Blackwater -not sure if you are being funny or stupid.
Report Win only - Sp only January 3, 2010 3:42 PM GMT
stupid imo, incredible offer- and one they surely havent bothered costing
Report shaggykev January 3, 2010 3:48 PM GMT
celtic used to do this- not sure is ivan still offering it or too busy with all his media work

whats the story there- he seems like a media hungry w hore pimping himself out to whoevers hiring- does he bother with the bookies at all now- has he written it off as a dead duck now no fobts have come in,
Report Cupwinkcook January 3, 2010 4:05 PM GMT
Ivans is treble the odds 1 winner

might go quad the odd time
Report ko2 January 3, 2010 4:09 PM GMT
if u do it ew and get a couple placed with 1 winneryou will be lucky to get the treble the odds with celtic and hacketts
Report moneypenny January 3, 2010 4:19 PM GMT
think celtic only pull that trick when they go 4times the odds ko2
Report Blackwater January 3, 2010 6:30 PM GMT
You really think bookies would offer a concession like this - and keep on offering it - without working out the cost?

Now who's being stupid.
Report moneypenny January 3, 2010 6:32 PM GMT
You are if you dont see the value in 4 times the odds in one winner
Report Cupwinkcook January 3, 2010 6:41 PM GMT
7/2 shot in the opener at Plumpton today, if you had him in a L15 e/w and you got 2 or 3 of the others placed then the 4 times the odds would have been a nice bonus.
Report Win only - Sp only January 3, 2010 6:44 PM GMT

yes. i reckon celtic would not have the faintest idea what it costs them- infact i would be amazed if they had the slightest idea
Report Cupwinkcook January 3, 2010 6:52 PM GMT
given one of their recent offers, I'd be inclined to agree

they offered a decent special in a bad e/w race
Report Eddie Batt January 3, 2010 7:02 PM GMT
Blackwater -you strike me as a bit of a dummy.I am not worried by the fact that bookmakers can offer 4 times the odds and still make an overall profit-I do a Lucky 15 about twice a year and a t 4 times the odds for one winner I wont be contributing to their profits.
Report Blackwater January 3, 2010 7:08 PM GMT
Maybe I am a dummy. And maybe the guys running Celtic are borderline retarded.

But if I found a bookie throwing money away, I'd know enough not to** them off on here, alerting them to their stupidity.
Report Eddie Batt January 3, 2010 7:30 PM GMT
They aren't throwing away money -they will squeeze the 7 day a week punters dry.The person who goes in there once or twice a year can play on advantageous terms.

LUCKY 15 FOR MUGS NAP

eeeegits doing their 10cents lucky 15s and looking for 4 times odds on one winner, fools
Report Eddie Batt January 3, 2010 9:23 PM GMT

Report slickster January 3, 2010 10:50 PM GMT

Report Win only - Sp only January 4, 2010 7:07 AM GMT
da fallon factor comes across as a very shrewd operator.
Report MALAY January 4, 2010 8:32 AM GMT
the old boy Stephen Little who is retired now, was the top rails bookmaker in England, said the treble the odds lucky fifteen was amazing value.

used to run for a pro and his most regular bet was ew l15s, was travelling all over to avail of 4 times the odds 1 winner
Report Kelly January 4, 2010 2:37 PM GMT
In the old days when punters did not have current options , one very succesfull punter I knew concentrated on each way lucky 15's . He was usually picking second and third quos in selected races , where there was a decent chance of place . Occasionally a winner popped up , sometimes 2 or 3 , and any winning selection invariably gave him a good profit .

The place bets nearly always cleared the win bet costs , even with no outright winner .

4 times the odds for a sole winner represents a good bargain if you know what you at , and can get on .
Report pots January 4, 2010 2:42 PM GMT
blackwater you are way overestimating the small chains and independents. there is no way they would cost this, indeed they wouldn;t even know where to start
Report Winnerallrite January 7, 2010 7:45 PM GMT
sounds good but its bad bet, if you had the price of your lucky 15 on one horse to win you would return more in the long run.

1 e/w lucky 15 one winner 4/1 pennies back

or put your 30 quid on the 4/1 shot
Report Win only - Sp only January 7, 2010 7:48 PM GMT
that will be the 4/1 shot you know is gonna win then. genius
Report ko2 January 7, 2010 7:58 PM GMT
winnerallrite you must be taking the pi ss
Report da fallon factor January 7, 2010 8:07 PM GMT
Lucky 15s are for the casual punter who wants an intrest in 4 races that he is probably going to watch on the tele

Report Eddie Batt January 8, 2010 9:34 PM GMT
Obviously da fallon factor is a serious punter having signed up here on the 19/1/09 -feel free to lecture the rest of us.
Report Winnerallrite January 9, 2010 8:48 AM GMT
win only..sp i think you should get out and get laid for yourself dude seriously..u don't have to reply to every post with crap.

as i said in the long run!

A winner with 30 buttons on it will fare out better than a crap lucky 15 and yes i do pick out the occasional winner amazing isint it?

Ask yourself the question how many times have you done a lucky 15 and how many times did you get 4 wins, you personally?
Report da fallon factor January 9, 2010 9:17 AM GMT
Eddie which side do yo Batt for?
Report limestone lad January 9, 2010 10:35 AM GMT
To winneralrite think win sp is pointing to the maths of his argument.

Examply you are backing 4 horses all 4 are odds of 6/1 straight for €7.50 costing €30.
If one wins then you get €52.50

If you do a lucky 15 with 4 times the odds then you get €52

But if you get more than one winner you will obviously get more with the lucky15

I personally think it is a great bet but the obvious thing to do is to pick horses that are 7/2 or over to clear your stake
Report Cupwinkcook January 9, 2010 10:50 AM GMT
I'd prefer a solid 3/1 shot over an 11/2 shot I wasn't confident in and take the hit

better long term

finding these horses is tough going, 4 in a day you are doing well
Report shaggykev January 9, 2010 11:00 AM GMT
would be a great offer if i could find 4 horses to back this weather

i wouldnt be able to find 4 horses to back in a week at the mo never mind in one day

but this would be a good offer for cheltenham etc

at the mo its probably being used to tempt people to bet on races they know bugger all about and the form is about as reliable as the irish government
Report Winnerallrite January 9, 2010 12:28 PM GMT
I get what your saying but to be putting proper money on, ill pick one or 2 and back them win bets, used to do these type of bets when started betting along time ago and glad i got out of them standard bet was €3/4 e/w lucky 15 had me robbed getting back breaking even and losing out so 100 - 150 split on 2 horses returns better.

afaiaw -Lucky 15 bonuses if selection is a non runner you get no bonus.
If your first horse wins and 2nd horse places, bonus only on win section of bet.

the lucky 15 is an excellent bet and being given 4 x odds one winner gives the punter a massive advantage, anyone who cant see this shouldnt be gambling.

and that lad is giving 5 times so it a serious offer.agree its an excllent bet.
