Hi,

Does anyone think there would be much interest in a Betfair Exchange Trading Room in Co. Louth Ireland?

It would be incorporated in a Betting Office with Full SIS, SIS+, Turf TV and all the associated requirements for a high quality Trading Room.

The PC's would incorporate the Gruss software for all customers that would require it.

It would have full Tea/Coffee facilities etc.

What else would a Trading Room require.

Let me know what everyone thinks.

JC

There was probably no need to put Ireland in the thread title.

nextbet, theres always an interest in this type of betting experience. However the interest in most cases is probably short term imo unless you can replicate the Lovell model. Typically you want pros who operate 5/7 day weeks and who most importantly are winners. These guys will return day in day out and pay the seat charge. Is there a market in North East? If you're asking on here the prospects of getting a business going are slim id say.

Observerirl hit the nail on the head with regards the clientele you need to attract. Therefore automatically you are at a severe disadvantage, however since start up costs are minimal you havn't much to lose if your location if good.1 word of advice is strike a good deal with betfair.

HI,

All the necessary details are being sorted with Betfair.

Start up costs are far from minimal, seperate room, 8 PCs, 8 tv monitors, seperate television bank for SIS, SIS+, Turf etc., desks, seperate WC, air conditioning, CCTV, security,......etc.

It'll all be worth it.

Hi zoecon,

Yeah, I opened in Tyrrellspass a few months ago and I am in planning for one in Kilbeggan at the moment, hopefully opening that one in January.

Are you from the local?

I think you should keep set up costs as low as possible until you establish how much interest there may be. Its possible to do it in a lesser manner than you suggest and if people really want to play there not going to be concerned about air con etc..Some of the shop conditions in england are far from ideal yet are full. Its all about managing to attract a few regulars.

Yes the Trading Room is ready to go.

I am finalising details with Betfair, that won't take too much longer.

The room is fully fitted-out.

8 desks, 8PCs with individual TVs on desks, seperate WC, Air Con, Tea/Coffee facilities. CCTV with security access.

Seperate bank of TVs with SIS, SIS+, Turf TV, Sky Sports.

€40 seat cost per day.

Hi,

Would anyone have any ideas on how to make this Trading room as good as possible.

I'm sure we'll get the usual smart-ass answers, but even 1 good idea would be welcome.

will betfair give you statistics on IN RUNNING PRICES..... IE THE % OF HORSES TRADED AT PRICES BELOW SAY 3...2.5.....2.2...2....1.9ETC THAT WERE BEATEN.

THIS WOULD BE A VERY GOOD MARKETING TOOL

Alright Dell, no reply from Betfair on any of the questions. I'll refresh their memories and ask again!

I tried emailing you recently, did you get it?

John
