whenever i back him, he does his very best to stay out of the picture - usually for jp

have a look at his ride on Long Strand in limerick yesterday
if that horse wasnt injured ,he should have got a long holiday
maybe there was something wrong?

He had his first winner in tramore 1995, IF YOU SAY YES for Wiilie Mullins. He has had a lot of bad falls over the years, but has had many great victories. Incidentally Ruby Walsh had his first winner there too but I cant remember the name.

The way it drifted beforehand you would not think it was going to be in front going to the last. Casey gave that a great ride no matter what you think about him. Winged every flight and got outstayed on bad ground

D.J. Casey, rider of Long Strand, trained by Mr. C.F. Swan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung in this race and never picked up. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Long Strand was found to be post race normal.

ha :)

Can someone explain that comment.
Does he mean the horse never picked up, or that he himself never picked up (the stick)?

He seems unluckier than most for ending up on horses who run complete shockers.

Be interesting to see what handicap mark it ends up with eventually.

12th in the festival bumper.

8th was Shinrock Paddy, grade 1 winner.
9th Pepe Simo, rated 140 before his last run.
10th Benbane Head, beat a 130 rated runner by 7 lengths the last day

Long Strand is a dog anyway. He has a pure thiefs head on him. Casey not to blame there.
