Doesn't say much for our staying chasers :(
By:
That was dissappointing to say the least - thought we had found a star down the back straight - then to it beaten by that twicer - and it going abroad to boot
By:
i disagree , i thought joncol went to the front far too soon , went to war with notre pere a very long way out, notre pere jumped great but he is not in the same form as last season.
I would ride joncol with more restraint, he is a young horse with loads more to offer |
By:
Completely agree. He was a sitting duck. Didnt even lay off. He went to 1.06 IR. Sickener.
:( |
By:
In fact it was one of the best chases i have seen in a while, the best horses jumped great and were competitive from halfway down the back straight
It was a great spectacle |
By:
Cracker. Joncol is just a baby in experience terms. Lesson well learned to day imo.
By:
Yeah, had a few minutes to calm down :p
Joncol looked home for all money at the last, just stopped on landing, and had he been closer to the other too(was too wide off them) he might have rallied quicker. But the fact that Denman gave waf weight and a beating doesn't read well. Cooldine blew up very early, hard to know with Willies!? |
By:
Not so sure letting Joncol run down the last was a smart move from Cawley. A decent run alright, but as previously stated went to war a little too early for my liking.
By:
didn't lay off Joncol either :_| a stupid error
By:
At least we're gonna win the Champion Hurdle :D
By:
Downallstar no reason to be downcast , kauto star is probably the best chaser we have seen since arkle and denman is a awesome animal who will win many a top class grade 1 for some time to come.
Its no disgrace to be within 10 lengths of that pair |
By:
Browns Baily 25/1 with flowers represents great e/w value.
By:
All through his life Joncol has slightly tended to jump right, that probably cost him today
By:
Very odd ride on Sam Adams from Russell.
By:
Nice e/w shout The Gotchee
By:
You said it Dan, wtf was that!!???
Gave him no fkn chance, was nearly 20L off the leaders most of the way round ffs. |
By:
Will the stewards even care?
By:
I agree there about sam adams , he made a few niggly errors but if he stayed in touch errors dont matter too much , if you are out of your ground with the main principals , errors count for double

Poor Alain Cawley didn't shine in the two big races.
The previous day, how far would he have won if he had waited on Noble Prince. |
