Henry de bromhead sent SIZING MEXICO here and after taking it up 2 out won by 12 for the potts in the 4 yrold gelding. This must be a horse to keep a eye on for the future.
Tyrone golden rain won the winners of 2 but is said to be staying in pt to pts for the near future
Castleview mills returned to action with a 6 length win since finishing 3rd in a 2 mile beginners chase at clonmel march 2008
Ex top handicapper juveigneur won the open lightweight
Other winners were jimmy mangans SILENT CLICHE, ONTRACK and KING OF THE REFS

a walk in the park for a horse missin for 3 years the opposition couldnt finish a race between them in 25 odd attempts ..glue factory candidates

Should have braved the conditions on sunday looking at the results. Silent Cliche was an eyecatcher on his debut and the 4/1 was generous. Similiar comments aplly to King of the Refs though might have left the race alone giving zagrebs would be unproven on heavy ground. Still in all im sure he had plenty of supporters at around 3/1. Tyrone Golden rain and Juveigner took advantage of guilt edged opportunities, particularily the latter whose only viable rival fell early. Good to see the old timer got off the mark for the year anyway. Heard from a man that was there that the only challenger to the winner of the last mysteriously pulled up quickly after two out and also happened to be the odds on winners stablemate. Strange that.

as far as I know the sizing prefix has something to do with a large mining drill Potts came up with and made alot of money from it.........

Just watched KING OF THE REFS win from THE TAXI DRIVER (Owners O.Loughnane & J.Neylon) and ROSSBRIN.
Not as impressive as SIZING MEXICO in div1. though, who jumped well and was very fast on the run in - called him S. Europe a few times in the commentary, he he he. John Lane's EVESHAM STAR (7/4 fav) 2nd to AG DUL SUAS - slight mistakes jumping right at the last two were costly for the mare, blame Pat Collins for looking around him too. She may have been tiring although when she got a few slaps, when the race was lost, she chased the winner to the line. |

Tullintain, coming off a 250 day break, made light of that absence when taking the Shannon Tourism Maiden Hunters Steeplechase in good fashion by eight lengths.
Proform Native, the well-backed favourite, chased the pace-setting Theresathingwrong, but Derek O'Connor patiently cruised into contention on Tullintain, he led early in the straight and the result was well and truly beyond doubt when he confirmed the win with a lovely leap at the last. Successful trainer, Robert Tyner, handles the Oscar gelding for his wife Mary, who also bred the six-year-old and he said: "He is 16.2 or 3, a fine big horse that won three point-to-points. He got beat in Killeagh one day but the track there would have been too tight for him. "He was gone off the boil by the time that he finished down the field in a bumper at Tipperary and we left him off after that. I was a little concerned that he might need this but he had a nice bit done at home. There was no winners of three for him in points and those opens are like top handicaps at the moment. "He'll go for another hunter chase now." |
