very impressive imo , had a look at it in the parade ring ,i still cant judge greys but backed it anyway. as you say never in doubt .

Scholars Mate is another one. In fairness todays lad probably had 8-10lbs in hand of his handicap mark on his best form without even accounting for any possible improvement that the change of scenery would produce. However he hasn't shone well in the last 12 months at least. Sent to carlow and dots up on his first start. Hard to know what willie is doing that is so much better than what trainers like colm murphy are doing. This lad will win again if he gets a stone or less of a hike.

Whats so hard to know about WP and what he can do ffs.When something is too good to be true its because usually it is.Florida Pal is a horse to look out for in a maiden hurdle for WP.He should have no bother winning one seeing that he has done so already.Maybe hardly anybody else cant train horses anymore but forgive me for being a sceptic.

The RP was worth its weight in gold today.

A marvellous in depth stable tour of all WP's horses along with Hobbs, F Murphy, and G Moore.

What a sparkling crop of horses he will be going to war this winter.

He also mentions the bumper horses he thinks that could be cheltenham types.

WP is a credit to the NH profession and a gentleman to boot.

Mind you its Tom and Patrick who have had two sparkling bumper winners in the past week. Tavern Times an Dr Whizz.

Willie could be playing catch up to Tom in the bumpers this season!!

Speaking of F Murphy - Elzahan and Naiad Du Misselot were eyecatchers at Cheltenham

Watch My Back ran well too, looks like he will win again on a flatter track where he will jump better

Both Serpentaria and Meath All Star appear to have taken steps back from the form shown with Mullins last season on their first starts for Elliot at Punchestown last week.

I hope Jessies Dream doesn't go the same way as I'd been looking forward to him.

I wouldnt judge them on the first run for a new trainer Prospero and the drift on Meath Allstar says it all imo. Elliot is one of the best at getting something out of a horse not that there would be anything to find after Mullins though :) Was at Nass Sunday and the boys involved in Thousand Stars had some cash down

I think Mullins is a nice bit better than the rest at the moment though he obviously has much more fire-power. Agree it would be harsh to judge the Lynch pair on their first start but Serpentaria was disappointing no matter what way you cut it; she was well punted on ground that suited and has a record of going well fresh in the past but went out like a light.

Elliot is hardly a complete retrograde step for the Lynch horses though and he should at least make Jessies Dream a betting proposition this term though it could equally be argued that you might be better backing at a shorter price knowing he is trained by a master of the profession.

I backed Serpentaria myself but I think she may not have been ready for the race or else all is not well with her. Its unusual for ruby to be that handy in a race in ireland and she has never stopped like that before so I think it may have only been a run to bring her to full fitness. As for Meath All Star he obviously wasn't strongly fancied and would want a longer trip. I think Borrowaddy and in particular Jessies Dream will make good novive chasers this season.

Bio serpentaria won somewhere over 3 miles if im not mistaken, wasn't the trip that caught her anyway

Perhaps Serpentaria is best in the Spring while shes won over 21/2 and 3mls.

Verdict Phantasy Rock is an interesting contender however THROUGH THE FOREST looks interesting after a break and is selected. Walter Swinburn's daughter of Forestry makes her debut on the surface this afternoon after two consistent efforts at Kempton. She looks to be fairly treated here off a mark of 53 and she can pay back some of the $160,000 that she cost connections. Mister Frosty has shown little, French recruit Daraqala has shown very little over hurdles of late, whilst Eightdaysaweek is a proven runner at this track and is being given a chance by the handicapper. A similar comment applies to top-weight Ladies Dancing, whilst Charging Indian has disappointed since a win here in October. Phantasy Rock completes the line-up; she is nicely-bred and the trainer is unlikely to be here just for a holiday. She is unexposed and this mark of 61 could prove to be lenient. Not a race to dwell on, and the vote goes to Through The Forest.

Hampshire Express is another interesting runner in the novice handicap hurdle tomorrow

leops full of clowns with plastic pints of lager at hand yesterday ,ploughing into wp/ruby fav at 4/1 in paddy power chase. might have been a bit of value at 14s but 4s ,christmas for the bookies on dec 27th.
